J C Correa is listed as SS for A+ Asheville Tourists after a couple of hundred PA at A Fayetteville. Already the second most recognizable name after Keven Millar from Lamar University, my alma-matter.
Well if the Yankees or Dodgers sign him then I would laugh at their fans from booing him and then cheering for him. I'd enjoy pointing out their hypocrisy endlessly, so that's a nice bonus.
Barring injuries, I believe Bregman would be an adequate defensive SS. He's done it in 18-19 when Correa was hurt and Bregman is only 27. However, we are so spoiled with Correa's fielding and cannon arm that there will be complaints next year no matter who we bring in.... I expect a lot of "Correa would have made that play" in the series threads next season. I don't see the Astros bringing in a 3rd baseman that would push Bregman to SS so it most likely is a moot point. Unless they just want to run Diaz out there and feel Bregman is better at SS......
So Correa leads in WAR yet none of his major stats are near the top of leaderboards. Did Correa's agent come up with the WAR formula?
I do not know what kind of shortstop Bregman would be. However, in one of his first chats on fangraphs, Kevin Goldstein was asked about it and his response was that Bregman would be well below average. I figure if anyone would know, it is him
They've been stealing signs and relaying the info since at least 1951. Only when they do it, it's gamesmanship.

The question is whether Bregman continue to bulk up without functionality like Chandler Parsons or tries to slim down like Yuli did. Bregman had much more range as a rookie, but his reaction time seemed to always be elite.
Hope we see early extension talks on Yordan or Tucker, always sucks losing home grown guys. Might be in the minority, but I think signing a replacement this free agency would be my least favorable option. Let Diaz start until Leon or Pena is ready for a call up and if none of those options work trade for a guy at the deadline.
Homegrown talent should count less against the luxury tax. This would allow teams to offer bigger contracts to keep their own players.
