it's not so much about comparing statistically with the original Run TMC...I mean we don't even know if Rice will be back to his best.

but i can't help wondering if everything clicks, then this team would be as fun as the original Run TMC to watch.

I agree, too. I've been so excited about what the Rockets have done. Although I had wished that we could have made a run at Webber, I know now that wasn't realistic. I feel that Rice fits Rudy T's system perfectly, and hopefully, the foot won't be bothering him too bad. When Walt shot well from the outside last year, we always seemed to be a better team and one capable of beating anybody. Just imagine what Rice can do if he's healthy. That if is a big question mark. But, yea, this threesome will be able to do some major damage assuming Rice is healthy.

I may have gotten the stats wrong but everyone on this board knows that Mitch was a better player than Mobley in his prime.

Sorry... I didn't intend to 'dis' you. I in fact agree with the logical nature of your arguement, but I agree with Lil Francis' position (first time I can remember...) that Richmond was better than Mobley is. My point was more to articulate Lil's arguement in a more defendable fashion, rather than disagree with you.

We have a weakness at SF, Griffin at SF would solidify this position. He would also put up more points at this position, and his defense at this position would be excellent. He has a better chance of winning the ROY at this position. Not against Tim Duncan, Wallace, Malone, Webber and the rest. Look at Dirk at Dallas, he plays SF at 7'0.

T mo at 6'9 needs to play SG, and develop into a great one to be competitive. He may not be a good one, but that is our weakness and we need him there. His height, and long arms alone could change the shot of Vince, or Bryant. Mobley at 6'4 needs to be a six man behind Francis at the PG position. We would wipe out the competition at this position. Mobley 6'4 at SG would be up against Tracey 6'8 in Orlando, and Bryant 6'7, and possibly MJ. I know Mobley is an excellent player, but when it comes to winning championships, you need team work. Look at Cassel and Kenny Smith.

Taylor stays at PF, along with Glenn Rice. His foot injury slows him down, and he would be more deadly at this position. Like Bird was at Celtics. Rice might not even play at all, with his foot injury.

Cato 6'11 at Center, we need another dominate center, he has to hold and score against 7'1 Shaq, 7'1 David, 7'1 Mutombo, 7'1 Ewing and the all time great Hakeem Olajuwon. Move Cato to PF, before it is too late, and get another Center.

Mobley is not yet in his prime.

You can't make this arguement as Mobley has only played 3 seasons and hasn't reached his prime yet. Richmond was better his first few seasons, but Mobley is still improving.

Edit: Pued beat me to it.

But lil critter...I wasn't talking about Mobley...you were!!....I said Francis is not comparable to Hardaway.....

When you beat that argument, you will understand that your Mobley/Richmond argument is not valid as welll!!!

    HeyPee...

If Rox ran motion like TMC had instead of all these ISO's I bet Francis could get 23/10 easy...

And then how many points would Mobley get??

Who sees how the Francis argument is won only by the Mobley argument being won as well??

Why do people suggest moving Mobes back to the bench? He put up monster numbers when he was moved into the starting line-up, and certainly would have a better balance against all of those players mentioned than TMo.
