Yes, most definitely. He's coming through in the Clutch, playing defense and attacking the basket with force!
Eric Gordon was a tremendous 2-way player his first 2 years with the Clippers. Shoot, drive, defend. He could do it all. Imo, before injuries somewhat derailed his career, dude was heading for superstar status. Thus, what we are witnessing from him does not surprise me at all. Lockdown defense with timely shots.
Gordon's always been pretty streaky but if this series has shown anything it's Gordon's ability to stay in front of some pretty quick PG/SG's. He got hot at the right moments and definitely closed out on a lot of his defensive assignments enough to give us the chance to win. I noticed a few things though, when he was missing all those open 3's it looked like he was closer to the 3pt line versus his normal 2-3 steps behind (might have slowed his ability to readjust his shot) and the ref's were terrible this game. They were calling all these insane fouls that gave the GSW opportunities to win the game. We were lucky they inadvertently called a whistle when Harden appeared to double dribble while trying to draw a foul. If Gordon gets it going early, we may have a pretty good game 6 even if CP3 is out.
Agreed...Harden needs to stay away from the ladies until this is over... got the feeling it takes away his edge and turns him into a lamb... guy has to focus and set the partying thing aside until this is over... he cant handle his liquor per se....if it wasnt for family man Chris Paul or Eric Gordon filling in... Thank God their heart and their heads came thru.
For real. He is quick enough and great body placement vs guards and strong enough defending the post vs some forwards.
