It amazes me how people can still write this kind of crap despite the number of times it has been rehashed on this board.

Eddie Griffin was behind his own firing, of a freaking gun, at his girlfriend, which got him arrested, for the last time in Houston. He was also behind his other assorted arrests, his drunken assaults of random hotelgoers in New Jersey, his beating up of various teammates from high school to college, his skipping out on practices and games, and his general waste of his own talent while he was here and of the repeated chances he has been afforded over the last 10 years or so.

It does not take a genius to see this.

I think we can painfully say JVG will have at least to the All-star break...maybe longer. We'll see

I am as big a JVG hater as you, but let be fair. It was not JVG who let Posey walk. Les was freaking stingy last offseason which was
proved by the Rice trade. JVG's bad decisions included

    1) Ward signing
    2) JJ and Boki trade
    3) no time for young players

Deke, Bowen, Paggett are not bad signings at all. We let a lot of players go because we wanted to save money.

There are 25 games before the break. My prediction: If the Rockets go 12-13, JVG probably is here until the end of the season. 10-15, thin ice. 8-17 (11 games under), and he is toast.

It amazes me how idiot JVG lovers never hold the man accountable and continuously write CRAP blaming others. No one is saying EG didn't screw up. You don't have to repeat his history for the millionth time we all know. No one is saying he didn't need to be suspended and disciplined soundly. He needed to be dealt with and it wasn't a minor infraction. But there were a hundred was to deal with him, and the decision to can him was JVG's. Eddie Griffin was canned by JVG and it does not take a genius to see that. JVG said get rid of the man and CD did. Les may have begrudgingly agreed and CD did the dirty work. But if you think anyone else was behind it besides JVG you are sadly mistaken.

Oh by the way EG is playing well in Minny and Houston is stuck with your idiot leader, JVG. Who got the worst deal out of that deal.

Oh Jesus Christ, can we not talk about Eddie Griffin? It's been done to death at this point.

Sorry Dr Dunk Rudy wouldn't waste his time posting in here. He has better things to do, like coaching a less talented team than the Rockets to the playoffs.

Can anyone explain to me how the JJ/Nachbar trade can be considered a bust when none of the players have yet to play a game in their new uniforms?

    Thanks.

Did Old Man Rock just begin a typical hindsight/tunnel vision rant absolving Eddie Griffin by mentioning "accoutability", did he? Tell me he didn't, did he? Cause that would be rich if he did.....

Oh damn, it looks like he is! :D

Actually, I do, because people keep forgetting that the the guy was not only a criminal but quit on his team, refused to get help, and continued committing crimes months after he left. And then they write stupid things

And I guess Eddie Griffin, your close personal friend told you this as well? It's hard for me to believe that he was privy to such matters given that he was AWOL at the time.

He was fired because anybody who quits on the team, was commitign crimes while on the team, and was a huge distraction and has a history of criminal behavior while on and off the team deserves to be fired. Who cares whether or not JVG was more or less responsible for this is really irrelevant; it was the correct decision at the time and most/all NBA teams would have done the same, as would most employers anywhere.

Yeah, let's gloss over his second NBA stop in 2004, the season for which you fault the Rockets for not keeping him around. His stat line is the following: 0 games, 1 drunken assault & battery of a complete stranger.

Yeah, I don't know why the Rockets wouldn't have kept him around to deal with that last year - Maybe he could have gotten wasted and attacked Shaq or Kobe in their hotel rooms the night before the playoff games.

Regarding this year, it's great for him that he's turned his life around after hitting rock bottom - it's been rehashed 1000x why that was not going to happen in houston so I'm not going to bother - though I will note his play has declined as of late now that his 3 pointer isn't falling as much and he is recently putting up numbers of the Eddie Griffin that we are used to, sans the usual arrests.

Accountability is a two way street old man.

I really believe this is his last stand. I doubt Les is going to let this go on any longer and let things get worse and worse. If we even make the playoffs with this roster this year i would still have to evaluate his job status because half these players won't be here next year. We are in a state of limbo.

We aren't building for the future and we don't have a team to compete now and aren't getting there anytime soon.

Who would hire JVG now? I have a hard time thinking of a winning team that would be willing to risk his knickification shenanigans and piss off their star by putting in Grumps.

Maybe he gets to be an assistant to Stan. That is, unless Shaq complains. :).

The Pistons would be a good fit for JVG, especially since Larry Brown will most likely retire after this season, if not before.

I was wondering about this. I'm currently living in Cleveland and wondered if in Houston (apart from this board) there is the same level of disgust for JVG and/or CD. Does is show up in the papers or on local TV?
