No, I would not vote for you simply based on Iraq. Iraq is only one part of the total foreign policy equation. You would probably also spend too much on welfare, healthcare, and public education. Why would I volunteer for the arm [sic] forces? I don't want to go to war. If there was a draft, I would definitely go, but I don't see the relevance.
So, you post all these great definitions from Wiki about how robust the Bush Doctrine is and how we need military strength beyond challenge, yet you don't see the relevence?
I posted the Bush Doctrine to show why I feel safer with Republicans in power. Whether or not I participate in the military has no relevance, does it?
Do you have any evidence whatsoever that this is the case? I only ask because every piece of actual evidence I have seen points to the opposite of this statement being true.
And to sarcastically apply the rhetoric and logic of the Republican Party.... You hate our troops for not voting for a candidate that wants to boost troop levels in Iraq. You hate our troops and are coddling the terrorists by showing weakness and an unwillingness to support those that want to win the war in Iraq. Boooo... Sounds stupid doesnt it?
With the money we've spent on the war I bet we could have funded free college tuition for the next 15 years for every kid in America.
Nomar, I taught inner city kids in Baltimore for more than five years. I've worked in schools in neighborhoods that would make entitled private schools twits like you pee your pants, if you were ever unlucky enough to get off at the wrong freeway exit and find yourself in the hood. But all of that is really beside the point. Nobody would call you, and those like you, chickenhawks or yellow elephants, if you simply supported increased military spending. What qualifies you for the yellow elephant distinction is your vocal support for a military adventure that you claim is vital to our national security, combined with your unwillingness to suffer any sacrifice or risk in support of it. You think it's okay for others to die for your cause. See military service is different from teaching, or fire fighting, or being a police officer, or any other profession the 101st Fighting Keyboarders try and cite to defend themselves from the chickenhawk charge. Anyone serving in those professions can quit any time they want. Members of the military are a captive population. Once they sign on the dotted line, they are committed and they risk their lives at the whim of our political leaders. The least we owe them is to not waste their lives carelessly. The definition of careless waste is the way you, tj, bigtexx and all of those like you, cheerlead the US into a "pre-emptive" war of choice and then blather about how your "skillset" is not a match for serving in the military, to try and excuse your cowardice.
Not a problem, I just found it funny for you to do so in a thread where you have made a handful of spelling and grammatical errors yourself. Everyone does need a little "[sic]" action from time to time, though.
Let's see... you criticize me for being in support of a war and then not joining the military. You see my actions as hypocrisy and cowardice. I draw an analogy to your support of public education and call upon you to teach. You then say that if I was simply in favor of increased military spending, it would be different. But you're right, in a way. I shouldn't have drawn the comparison to your support of increased funding for education. Are you in support of public education in general? Other points: Who said I was unwilling to sacrifice or risk myself for my country? Last I checked, I haven't received any draft notices in the mail. I'll keep looking though. You can talk all you want about careless waste, and about how my mindset is wrong. But I think a mindset of "we need to not fight wars because our soldiers may die and we owe it to them to keep them out of harm's way" is incredibly dumb. They are in the business of fighting. Is this a crazy concept? BTW: You don't know me, so don't talk to me like you do. Private school twit? Okay, pal. Rep that inner city tough guy BS.
Burzmail, I like you. Your'e my type of people. I will let you into the kingdom one day. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for public education, vouchers are the future. And for those against the war, check out King Hal's history. Look at Haliburton's stock go up, up, and away!!!! Can I buy ownership in a public school? no Can I buy ownership in Haliburton? yes, therefore the war was a good idea. And killing bad guys etc etc
