You obviously do not get to see many Spurs games. Duncan is not very outspoken or anything close to a showboat, but he surely shows emotion and some attitude on the court. He gets fired up when they are doing good and gets on his guys when they are slipping. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give him a 6 in the emotion and attitude category. Eddie would be hard pressed to get a 2 or 3.

I see where you are trying to compare the two, but just as their games are NOT comparable, neither are their attitudes.

Good post pasox. I agree too.

It's pretty much to the point where what we see is what we're going to get. Eddie may still have some room to grow, but he is not going to be the dominant player we though he could be. If we see him grow to become a 15-18pt and 8-12reb per game player I will be pleased. If he does not show signs of growth before the trade deadline, I think we should look to move him.

Rockets Pimp how the hell do you think he could average only 8 rebounds a game. He got 5 in one quarter last night. I think he will grow into a average scorer on day, but nothing great. But as he gets stronger over the years he will become a great defender and awesome rebounder.

And yes that means I think we will keep him and will not end up trading him.

I still believe in EG. People need to give him a chance this year before they start to bash him. The talent is there, all he needed was the body. If what many are saying is true, EG looks a lot more like a 4 now than the past few seasons. Keep in mind that EG would be a senior this season had he not left Seton Hall. We all saw what he did his freshman year, imagine what he would be doing to college comp now. The guy would be the #1 pick if he had stayed. Basically, until EG reaches where he needs to be physically we should all withhold judgement on how good he can be. It is way to early to be talking trades OR extensions (although he will be extended, we have invested too much to let him walk when we can sign him on the cheap still)

    He's averaged 5.7 and 6 rebounds(avg 5.8) respectively in his first 2 years along with 8.7ppg.

I would LOVE to see him average more than 8 boards this year, but it's going to be dificult for him to get much more than that with a 7'6" center roaming the paint. The numbers I proposed would be outstanding growth for him over the next few years.

Obviously you don't know much about basketball if you think one game means a damn thing. I saw the game, it was nice. Tony Delk scored 50, so what?

Zach Randolph absolutely abused Eddie in the summer league their rookie year, and now Randolph is looking to make a true breakout while Eddie is trying to show he really isn't a bust.

    (what Pimp said)

You obviously have never watched a Spurs game or even seen Tim Duncan. He gets fired up and even gets in peoples faces every once in a while - cant say the same for Eddie - the dude looks stoned on the court - freaking high as a kite. How else could someone be that mellow?

Would you like to place a friendly wager on Eddie's performance or if he even stays on the team through next year? Tell you what.... If he averages more than 12pts and 8rebs next year I will buy you a steak dinner at the Sizzler, or any other restaurant of your choice.

Whoo-hooo this is getting interesting. Dinner bets are always the best, cause in the end there are usually no hard feelings.

Edit: upon reflection, 8 rpg is not that bad...

Are you sure you want to offer ANY restaurant I want? Keep in mind that I live right next to Perry's Grill and Steakhouse (best steak in town, IMO).

Which do you want to bet on, that EG will be our PF through this year or that he will average 12/8?

F*ck it - a steak at Perry's Grill it is.

    Eddie averages less than 12pts and 8 rebs (examples: 10pts 9rebs, 13pts 7rebs, or 10 pts 6rebs)

    you pick up the tab.

Eddie averages 12pts and 8 rebs or better

    Im buying.

If he gets traded...... Nobody wins

You in? Im a man of my word

He will have abetter year than the last two! I mean he posted up a lot which is WAY diffrent from last year!!!! The way I see it is he should stay where he is and get more aggressive! Once he gets use to JVG system he should do much better!!:D

I'm at a loss... Everyone says that they've seen much improvement from the summer league. That he looks much better etc. That he didn't look that impressive in the summer leages even. Why would you disreguard his dissapointing (from what i've heard) summer league play against young players and those trying to MAKE a roster? It seems to me that' is much likely more what we'll see than the one good preseason game. I haven't seen him play in either, I just don't understand how he goes from dissapointing (over several games) to impressive (over one game.)

Screw the personality. Mitchell Wiggins was about as dull as EG. He was a solid defensive player, though. I'd take that package : solid player, boring personality.

Eddie lacks what a couple more years of college could have shown him, but I still believe he can make a big leap this year.

Remember, 3rd year for NBA players is their make or break year.

Prediction: 10ppg 8rpg 2.8bpg, those are reasonable numbers and I would love to see him do this.

Yeah but since when is Eddie a solid player? He showed absolutely no improvement from his rookie year to last year. The stats are so identical its almost scary.....

If the dude was a good player I would have no problem with a cardboard personality. I just dont see that in EG. But hell what do I know, he could be ripping it up in a few years - late bloomer.
