I just searched the store and couldn't find it. Also why is the number different?

I assume that #1 is just a placeholder until Ariza's true jersey number is revealed. The NBA store/Rockets probably rushed to make his jersey available for purchase in an attempt to pick up on the hype of the signing. No big deal.

I agree. It is kind of weird that the "1" on the jersey is way bigger on Ariza's than T-Mac's. They could've just used like "99" or "00" so it's obvious that it's a placeholder.

Didn't the NBA store accidently leak a new logo or jersey design not too long ago?

It's not even the same font that we use.

The 1's and the lettering on the name are different.

I agree that this is just a "placeholder" until Ariza's actual number is announced,

Hah no wait. I think its just a placeholder number as some have mentioned. I think he'll end up having a different number. I advise you wait but do what you wish. :)

I think if the nba just wanted to hype up the jersey they would have ariza's jersey # as 0 not 1... maybe daryl told ariza tmac will be gone and he wanted #1 as his number... so they're still waiting on the trade? Perhaps...

Yeah, I believe it was an NBATV commercial with Cuttino or something.

At any rate, I think this is a non-story, do you really think Ariza's number being #1 which would obviously indicate a Tracy McGrady trade would leak to the NBA store before any other media outlet?

It is a placeholder number. The Lakers Artest jersey was also #1 when they announced he signed with L.A.

The jersey will the warehouse in 2-3 weeks. In that time, Ariza's number will be determined. So a placeholder? Yes.
