I never get door-to-door people, except the Watchtower folks. One of the benefits of living in a poor neighborhood.
I think I heard a story about this happening. The guys are crooks disabling alarms. Let me see if I can find it.
White, FTW! Now back on topic, sounds shady...I would never let anyone come into my house un-announced...Has to be a trick...
Anyone crazy enough to let someone they don't know into their house should consider therapy and get on medication. Growing up, folks in my neighborhood didn't bother locking their doors. These days, you should do everything you can to say safe, and that includes not letting bozos into your house to install a freakin' "alarm system" that you didn't vet before they ever showed up. Sounds like a scam, Sishir. Glad you reported them. Might want to check with the BBB, as well.
If Honeywell had authorized (and paid for) the work, they likely would have scheduled an appointment window so they could make efficient use of the technicians' time. Sending techs through a neighborhood using something similar to a Cold Calling method seems like a flawed business strategy for servicing their own customers.
Well most of the homes in my neighborhood didn't have existing alarms. And believe me I had the guy wait until the tech arrived to install the system. Now there is another company called APEX wich I know for fact is a ripoff so what ever the company it never hurts to verify their claims.
