Where do I locate the specs? I'll be honest, I can and do run and load whatever I want on here with no problem, so I may be incorrect.

What should you look for if you're looking for a "good" computer.

Under properties on my computer, it says "Intel Pentium 4
    2.00 MHz
    1.20 MHz
    256 MB of RAM

    So that's what I assume I have.

If you want a cheap computer that'll play the newest games then you should build one yourself or have somebody build it for you.

For example, this looks like a similar computer as far as output goes, plus it's an Apple. Right now it's at $200.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Dual-867-MHz-Pr...ryZ51034QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Here are the specs on it:

Dual 867 MHz Processors Macintosh PowerPC G4
(1MB L3 cache per processor) with 1.75 GB DDR SDRAM Memory
Hard Drive 60 Gigs • Comes with: installation software including system software reinstall,
Apple Super Mouse, VGA adapter, power cable, and macintosh keyboard.

Current operating system is 10.4.9 • Has a variety of software including Photoshop CS.
    Super Clean. Excellent Condition.
Works Perfectly. This is the one you have been waiting for!
If you decied to pick up I have a used 21'' monitor that works great...I will throw this in only for pick up as it is to heavy to ship. The $45.00 shipping fee will apply for the monitor on pick up.

The only reason a person should buy a mac is if their paperweight is on vacation. The only reason I could see a person substantiate the use of a mac is if they are going to use Garage Band and don't feel like learning a real piece of software.

Right Click on My Computer - Properties - Hardware Tab - Device Manager - Expand Processors. That should tell you the speed of your CPU.

To find out how large your hard drive is, double click on my computer. Right Click on the C: drive and choose properties. That will tell you the total size of your hard drive.

You do only have 256 MB of memory though from what you're saying.

its best if you list the games you want to play... or else we will have to spec the PC to the highest games specs. of course that will go over your budget.
main thing is you have to decide on your video card since that is the most expensive hardware for gaming.

last i checked the best bang for your buck for video cards was the Nvidia 8800 GTS 640MB 320bit
the price seemed to have gone up was below $350 last i looked.

How so? That is a dual-core processor. The slickdeals one comes with a Core 2 Duo.

It's basically the same deal but you're just upgrading the processor in the slickdeals one because dual-cores run very hot compared to C2Ds.

It just depends on what you want. Do you want a 1" larger monitor or do you want a faster processor. Personally i'd go with the processor. The monitor is easier to upgrade in the future.

The expand processors tab didn't pop up, but from the other suggestion, it looks like I have a 40G hard drive.

I didnt mean there would be a tab called "Expand Processors." I meant once click on task manager, there will be an item in the list called Processors. Click on the plus sign next to it to expand it, and that should tell you what type of cpu you have. :)
