I just bought this tent from Costco, brand new, for a hundred bucks. It was an impulse buy, which is unusual for me. I can take it back if I choose to. But I think I got a good tent at a great price. Then again, I haven't bought a tent in 15 years. So I'm not completely confident in my purchase. Depends on what you'll use it for. Probably not a good backpacking tent, but looks fine for car camping. Looks good for summer, probably not so good in cold and wind.
I saw it too, and when I saw that it was $100, I grabbed one. It's pretty heavy - I'll weigh it after dinner and post back. Certainly not a good tent for backpacking as it's heavy as hell. Should be good for car camping. Why would it be not so good in cold and wind?
For wind: It's big and thus more area for the wind to grab. You'll probably not be in 35 mph+ winds, so don't worry about it. If you do find yourself in that situation, make sure you stake it well. Cold:
By the way, here's my current work tent: http://www.rei.com/product/717787 I'll probably get a new tent after this year's fire season, as this one is starting to get worn and smells a bit. It's been in 115 degree heat in Arizona and 0 degree cold in Alaska... dead calm in Idaho and 60 mph winds in New Mexico. I think it's the best tent I've ever had. Takes a little time to put up, but nice and cozy with enough room for me to stretch out and store all my gear.
Sorry about your situation. Alot of people lose their homes. Things will turn around. Never lose hope.
I have the hammerhead 2. I wish I would have gotten the hammerhead 3. I foolishly thought I'd start doing some real camping instead of car camping if I had a nice, light tent. Doh!
