Hey, I'm just kidding with you because I found out how to post pics [IMG]. Don't get all worked up. Your post doesn't make sense, though, because in this scenario, you don't even get a center.

um, the deal did suck though. should i have said instead 'the deal completely lacked of any sort of fairness or logic feasability for the national basketball association franchise the denver nuggets'? i mean, it was stupid (not the person, the trade idea).

and can you name one team that, if given the choice, would take either drew AND rogers over posey alone?

    Nugzfan,

I think there has to be a certain amount of optimism prevalent in amy webpage dedicated to any particular team. I think you would do a lot better by writing off trades posted here that you deem rediculous as "wishful thinking" and go about your business having gotten a good chuckle out of it, rather than getting defensive (and maybe even a little worried) about your woefully substandard team and bashing those of us who simply want to know what other Rockets fans think about a trade that, although unlikely, could theoretically happen.

I also think you would do much better by taking posts like Det's and some of the comments like the one I made above as friendly banter, rather than a personal assault.

Besides, that guy was a very successful star in the music business, so regard it as a compliment [IMG].

wait, if i call an obviously stupid trade 'stupid' (it was! i cant help it...if it was borderline i wouldnt have said that) i get accussed of insulting, but when you guys do it, its a joke? how the hell was i suppose to know that?

and i dont even know who that guy is in the pic (im not a big old music fan...almost anything pre-90s, i got little or no clue [IMG])

but my main point is two fold : 1) you guys ALWAYS do this. this is not the first, or even 4th time. how many times have you guys posted an unfair trade with denver in it? why cant you guys come up with a fair deal for all sides? 2) this deal wasnt even remotely close.

If we could get Cory from the Bulls we would get a steal. That guy is a hell of an athlete.

How about Drew to the Spurs for a 1st round pick? He could help AJ who is getting old and has no outside shot. Plus they play the half court game where Drew could thrive.

ok ok.....maybe I raise his value a bit, but u drop it a lot too......On a scale of 1 to 10, where MJ is a 10, Drew would be somewhere between 5 and 6......and that's not so bad......I mean, he's a Jazz type player u know, disciplined, and he can get the job done......So, I think at least a first rounder for him is fair.....

    Sane,
Exactly....a Jazz type player. I am surprised the Jazz have not inquired after losing Horny and Eisley!!! They do still have Vaughn. I am not sure what the Jazz could offer us, and I am not sure what they hold in draft picks or if anything is owed to them.

    Maybe Scott Padgett???

Hey guys... while I don't necessarily agree with Nugz' diplomacy skills, you have to admit that a lot of crackpot trades get suggested here on a daily basis. That happens to be one of my big pet peeves...
Not that everyone here is expected to represent universal objectivity, but don't embarrass yourself by striking up "intellegent" conversation about someone you saw on Sportscenter...

Like... what would you say if you were on vacation in Indiana and you overheard some guys in a bar saying, "Man, that Cuttino Mobley guy is pretty good. We should try to trade for him. Maybe we could give them Derrick McKey and Joe Kleine and mabye a pick... I think he would be a good addition to our team... and the salary's fit..."

I don't know if I could keep my mouth shut in that situation.... On the other hand, Nugz, if I was in a bar in Indiana, I'd probably not yell too loud...

ok yeah the posey being 10 times better thing and the stupid things were either wrong or harsh, but understand that trade is basically an insult to the nuggets. i probably shouldnt have said it.

but at least i know most rocket fans have a good amount of logic [IMG]

    yall were scaring me before...

I go to class and miss all of this...

All this speculation about trades is to just satisfy the general manager in all of us. Obviously, since this is a Rocket forum, there will be a certain bias towards that team, but your argument NugsFan isn't as valid as u think. For one thing, there will be picks thrown in. There is always picks thrown in. U could get the Bulls #1 for all u know. Since I didn't put trading picks on there, the trade was a little vague as far as the complete deal goes so that was my fault, but I did mention it. Your argument about your players is admirable yet has bias as well. Artest has overall better numbers than Posey (go look). He would basically replace Poseyand more.

Then your argument of Keon Clark. Carlos Rogers put up comprable numbers to Clark and yet u make it seem like Clark is head and shoulders better than Rogers (go look). Also, sorry, can't provide a link but I do remember reading something about Clark not having the greatest of work ethics...maybe u have heard something about that.

I will admit that I thought Ruffin was 6-11/7-0. I saw the draft he was drafted in and the comentators said something like he was 6-11 but when I looked at NBA.com, he was 6'8...hardly the size of someone who could play center in the NBA, so that was my bad.

Now, Popeye Jones, don't u even tell me your gonna put up an argument for him. His best days are behind him when he was in Dallas. That dude played less than half the season last year and yet he is just so high quality that u start screaming and saying "stupid deal". Does he even look like a player the Rockets want to add to their team. Jones is an older player who the only impressive stat was his rebounding and that was when he was with Dallas. In his 40 games last year, he averaged 2.6 in points and rebounds...and yet he is coveted player. But he is collecting a paycheck and that would be what the Rockets would want from him since his contract expires after this season; hell the Rockets would probably outright renounce his rights and u can have him back if he is so important to the Nuggets.

Also, the Nuggets would be getting a semi large trade exception next year. Ok, if the trade seems so unfair to the Nuggets we could also trade Benjamin to them if they wish. I just tried to make it fairly even but if they want another talented SG, I change my trade and the Nuggets can have Benjamin who is a steal at the numbers he put up compared to his low cost. Besides, the Rockets don't really have the room for another SG so he might have been renounced anyways.

Point is, there are going to be critics of every trade, even the ones that actually happen and I can offer my own ideas to what I deem as acceptable. I wanted people to critique my trade but with research to back up what they were saying, not with brilliant quotes like "this is stupid" and other posters "bringing u guys down". That is just silly. No acceptable research was done for Nugzfan's argument, it was just some passionate opinion he stated and then hyprocritically offered the BBS to come back with something smart to defend our argument all the while he didn't state anything to prove his argument was more than an opinion.

Now u can come back with something intelligent to say.

It's difficult to tell when anyone is joking when all you have is the written text in front of you. The smilies don't always do the trick, though they help. [IMG]

For one thing, Drew has more value than anyone on this message board thinks.....So Bulls, Clippers, and Phoenix have all shown interest.....I mean, he's not a 20 pts. 10 asst. guy, but he's not Randy Livingston either....I know if te Bulls sign Rice, and get Drew to pla 25 minutes....he can get around 14 pts, 6-7 assists.....As for the trade, I must agree, it was "lopsided".......
