Is there anyway for the Francis 3 jersey to be retired when he's done?

I know he only played 5 years for us, but love him or hate him, he was ours, and will always be a Rocket for life in our hearts(most of us). So, when it's all said and done after 10 more years, is there a possibility that Les will take him back and have him retired as a Rocket, and have his jersey hanging in the TC?

After McGrady brings us a championship, then yeah, retire SF's jersey as he was the greatest trade bait in the history of the rox franchise.

While were at it, might as well put up a statue for Weisbroad.

Maybe the Rockets will bring him back before then if this T-Mac-Yao thing doesn't work out (or as I like to call them, Soft and Softer).

As much as I love Steve, though, I can't imagine that he's justified getting his jersey retired by us at this point.

I love Steve, but if his jersey is retired, then I demand that Sleepy Floyd and World B. Free's #s get retired too.

I would call Francis and Mobley "Turn and Over".

If Francis gets his jersey retired then...

Kenny Smith, Vernon Maxwell, Sam Cassell, Robert Horry, and Otis Thorpe should have jerseys retired as well.

So, Yao and McGrady will retire at 26 and 27?

everything i thought has pretty much been covered. plenty of players have made contributions on the level of steve francis and don't have their numbers retired. Olajawon, Malone, Murphy and Tomjanovich. Those are the only ones retired, right? I mean how can a person possibly justify hanging steve's jersey among those. Olajawon lead us to our only two championships. Moses Malone was one of the greatest centers of all time. Calvin Murphy and Rudy Tomjanovich were with the Rockets for over 30 years in one form or another.....

I bet you think we should retire Mike Wilks number too! The Rockets would not have any numbers left to use if you were in charge of retiring numbers.

Now, why would Les want to bring back a player who relied on his athleticism to score, had no defense, at the age of 37?

Unless of coures, you mean as a scout? GM? Assistant coach?
    Security gaurd? Water boy?

3 positions of which I see him as being incapable of doing. Noting his lack of brains and all.
    :p

Oh, and I just remembered they retired Drexler's jersey too. I was there. How did I forget that? :D

Now he was only with us for a few years, but he is from Houston, went to U of H and helped us win a title.
