Is there anybody that legitimately watches the whole game, every game?

DVR is the key. I try to watch most games the same night (after the family goes to sleep), but I speed it up quite a bit with DVR. Baseball is so slow, so I try to forward through the fluff (in between pitches, innings changeovers, pitching changes) to watch the action (strikeouts, balls in play, hits, runs, etc.). It's not a bad way to watch when you're limited for time like me. Actually, it makes watching a game in real time almost unbearable. Fortunately, the lack of CSN will spare me this year:mad:

I can't stand using DVR with baseball. Football & Basketball, no problem. Time between pitches generally isn't worth FFing through.

If you don't FF between pitches, where do you FF during basketball, other than free throws?

I've been known to watch a baseball game on the slowest ff setting.

For a couple seasons when I was a kid I watched every pitch of every game.

Jim Deshais (sp) scarred me for life with his erratic first inning tendencies.

Each year of my adult life I have watched fewer and fewer other than the Roger Clemens/Andy Pettite runs of a few years.

This year - I don't know if I will catch a single complete game, but I will surely check out several innings and as many as I can.

i like to use the DVR dual buffer. i will watch another show on one buffer and flip back to the astros on the other buffer. i will rewind the astros on that buffer to see the good parts. then, i will fast foward again back to the current time in the game, flip over to the other buffer, watch other programming for a while, and flip back to the astros buffer, rewind, watch, fast forward, etc. . lol. that's pretty much how i watch baseball. i watch the rockets like that as well. what can i say...i like to control time. but, no longer get games except when they play rangers so it's all moot now.

Freethrows, out of bounds, timeouts, official reviews.

I like to listen to the game as well, but could give the double speed a try and just play something in the background to take my mind of the silence.

Well duh on timeouts, RM95! Forgot about the 45-minute long official reviews. I also FF through jumpballs that seem to take an hour as well. There is no more annoying play in sports than the jumpball in the NBA.
