Yeah but hes up there in age and hes expendable as we have Landry as his back up....Scola is valuable but if a trade comes up and we have to throw him in I have no problem letting him bounce...Also he has an expiring contract, so number 1 untouchable....NA BROSKY

    He's also getting older.

I love Scola, but we know what he will produce, he has pretty much reached his peak. Landry, on the other hand, is young and a very good upside.

All these reasons showed Scola is a very tradable asset. Other teams will like that.

I agree. Ever since Scola stepped into the starting lineup couple years ago..The Rockets has developed a winning attitude. Scola, being a "World Class" player..brings so much leadership with his presence. Scola brings...consistancy, durabilty, leadership, etc. at 3mil a year..Scola is a bargain.

    - Unfortunately, at his age 30...Rockets may be looking to use him as a trade asset for a package deal involving an elite player..

    - For some odd reason, I believe Scola will get traded before the trade deadline.

Landry's the one finishing games over chuck and scola, he's been the most productive as a go-to guy down the stretch, so if any body's untouchable it's landry over scola especially when you consider the age difference.

Landry still has time to improve while scola already reached his peak, nor is his post defense any better than landry's.

i agree but i also think that trading any of the following players: battier, scola, hayes; would change this team completely we'd probably lose our hustling mentality and hard working attitude and i think morey thinks this way too so i'd say they are the untouchable ones

I think Morey is getting a LARGE number calls for Scola as many contenders would kill to have him in their front court. I think Landry is the biggest trade chip the Rox have because of his age and contract but Scola is the most likely to be shipped out which SUCKS because he is my Favorite player yet like I mentioned in another thread...I like our players a lot but I love the name on the front of their jerseys.

Fully agree with 3, 4, and 7. Scola plays as hard as anyone in the league; not sure if he plays smart. He's not a good one-on-one defender in my opinion, though again he'll play hard. He's a steal at his current salary. At double his current salary, I'd say he's being compensated fairly.

scola's awesome. he's definitely an underappreciated part of this team, since his biggest asset is consistency. he also seems like an amazing person, as evidenced by how good of a teamate he is. honestly, i don't want to trade anyone on this squad, but he might have to go because of his age, the fact that he's due for a pay raise, plus he's a very attractive asset for a trading partner.

If mo malone fresh off taking a .500 club and 2 time league mvp can be traded, why would anyone on this rockets team be remotely untouchable?

I love landry, but I don't think he'll play much better than he is right now on a contending team. Especially when Yao comes back.

Were you not paying attention when Morey said no one on the active roster is untouchable?

The #1 untouchable player is probably Brian Cook. Nobody wants him.

His minutes are also on the decline.

Take a look at minutes per game lately.

Landry's been playing 33 minutes per game (-ish).

Scola's been playing 24 minutes per game (-ish).

Seems Scola would get more burn, given how we're not tanking this season. UNLESS other teams want to see what Landry can do with more minutes.

Tough to say. I'd choose to trade Scola. Toronto is a team where he'd re-sign and that would have interest (Euros/Argentines generally don't avoid playing there).

If and that's a big if, the Rockets end up landing Bosh it will be Landry that gets traded and not Scola. There is no way Toronto makes a deal without Landry. If they're going to give up their young PF, they're going to want a young PF in return.
