i'm not anti-marriage. what i don't get is the large sums of money spent on an elaborate wedding day. here you have ONE day, where you spend a college fund's worth, or home down payment, to celebrate with a bunch of people who you probably see once every 5 years. save yourself the headache and the money. have a decent dinner with your family to celebrate. then throw a house party/beach bash with your friends. it's alot more fun and i would even say more memorable.
i think it's a huge mistake to lose all your friends just b/c you're married. it's important to have a social circle outside of your marriage. seeing only your SO everyday for the rest of your life, even if you're in love, can make anyone go crazy.
now here's where we agree. no question about it i'm intensely supportive of my wife having friends..going out with her friends. she is the same with me. once you have children it becomes a bit more difficult. there's homework and baseball practice and school plays. and they take up your time. even still you have to find time to be alone...and to be with friends.
No, no, NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I think you should spend as much money has humanly possible* *on the band Come on, I've got a mortgage to pay!
Please elaborate. What is the "A" in "MIA"? I know the "A" doesn't stand there for "church", so please tell me what the "A" is. If the "A" is good, clean, wholesome, guilt-free fun, then they're NO friends.
Do yourself a favor and pick up "The Office (US)" on DVD. The second season just came out, and it's a masterpiece. P.S. A police tribute band from Scranton, PA is exactly what that is. Nice guess.
The "A" usually involves drinking at a bar/ club and single girls. So I can see objections from the wife there. At least one guy has been able to keep his Texans season tickets and make it out to tailgating.
I couldn't be happier with my marriage. 9 years married 15 years together and wife is currently 30 weeks pregnant with first child. Marriage might not be for everyone, but when you find the person that makes you feel like no other - there's nothing like it in the world.
What's "love"? By the way, all I can think about when you mention that song is "Married with Children." The image of the Family Bundy doesn't exactly make me feel less cynical about marriage.
That's what Kevin McHale thought when he signs all of the Timberwolves players to 6 year deals. And look how that's turned out for him.
OK, thanks. I don't watch that show so I must have missed the reference. I'll add it to my Netflix queue. Back on topic, I'm pretty conservative when it comes to marriage. I sometimes wonder how many people would still get married if divorce were illegal. I'm not advocating that, just making a hypothetical. I'm a little jaded because there's a lot of divorce in my family. That's why I'm in my mid 30's and still single. I'm in a relationship with a girl that I can TOTALLY see myself marrying, but my rule is to date for at least a year before the "M" word even comes up.
LEGALLY no reason what so ever to get Married Esp if you are a man Socially - basically the same [See Will Ferrel's scene with the Counselor in OLD SCHOOL] Spiritual - POT O GOLD from what I'm told I am pretty much of the mind I will never Marry If me and my girl love each other. . no ceremony or Government Documents needed [all that crap is for lawyers] And because of all that Government Crap, we cannot live together because they we get impressed into a QUASI MARRIAGE thing which allows them to govern your breakup [if necessary] and taxes and they sneak into your life that way "The government man . . . . I tell ya" - Ofc Hadley Rocket River
