Again, because he would NOT be a starter on this team.

Salaries don't match. Maybe Cook and Andersen for Gortat, but Orlando would be beyond stupid to do that.

He has BYC status which would mean only half his salary would count towards a trade.

    OK Rick Adleman? wtf?

If Gortat was on this team it would be the max of probably 2 games for him to start over chuck wagon. Trust me i love chuck but there is noway you start him ahead of a 7'0" center. Chuck would be excellent off the bench like he always has been.

If I'm thinking big picture, I would vs being caught up in the moment. I doubt the magic would trade him because they're trying to win a title this year. If the rockets could get a yound big like gortat on a mle contract and get under the lux tax, then why not? If yao comes back and is good, the team would have a proven young center on a mle deal.

Doesnt have to be Gortat, but its this kind of play where you wish the team had a C/PF with legit length. Hayes plays the defense he knows how to do, he makes the shot more difficult. You know Deke would challenge the shot in the air (never mind Ariza getting crossed)

dude remember.....gortat is BYC player.....which means his "TRADE" salary is only 50 percent or his last season's salary before he signed this new big contract...

so that makes it a PERFECT

Not only would the Rockets have a proven young center at a decent price (for center standards) lee, Gortat would also be insurance in case Yao went down again. Baller, I agree with what you say. I want Gortat on this team

You're out of your mind if you think he wouldn't be a starter this year. You're equally as crazy if you really think Yao returning is the answer to everything. I love Yao but it kind of goes without saying that his durability is quite the issue. In this type of situation having depth is essential.

I would like gortat, but for what? I think it would be foolish not to explore the options of having gortat. I think you would start with probably scola. I know Deckard is going to kill me, but i got love for him  . To complete the deal, probably taylor and dorsey.

Well now if all we are giving up is that....then sure...might as well.....but the length of his contract and amount is a bit much......but not that much more than his true value.

I have said all year, watch for Dec 15th, that is the day that we might be able to move our big contracts.

FRICKEN Ariza reached instead of moving his feet in that play, with his length if he had more defensive discipline he would be much better .

His contract is exactly like ariza's and he's a big. He's not playing much because Howard is a workhorse and doesn't get hurt. When you match his would be production to his contract, its really not bad. Unless a guy can't play, a mle contract isnt a poison as you say. The more and more I'm getting and I know you're going to disput this, but tracy isn't going anywhere. I do think some of these guys that got signed this summer might move and i really don't think orlando want to risk howard being out for a 2 week span and not having a center.

Gortat's contract is not bad for a league that has bench scrubs like Darko making 7 million, he will start on our team and even if he does not improve his game at all for 4 or 5 seasons (Which is not likely) it will still be good value IMO.

If Darryl Morey can acquire Marcin Gortat, and then following with Tracy McGrady coming back, the team will be play-off approved. The Houston Rockets will be the favourites to win the world champions trophy.

the problem is the magic will want a legit backup to dwight howard who can play 10 to 15 minutes a night and play alongside him if he has to...I don't think they want a "howard-insurance" type who gortat seems to be...I mean if DH12 goes out their whole SEASON goes out end of story I mean Rashard Lewis isn't gonna carry them into the Finals so I think in this case David Andersen is perfect for this role...he can step in and play 10 to 15 minutes of productive scoring and spreading out the floor so Vince can do his thing and he can be their 5th best 3 point barrage cannon!!!

Heck, I'll even include Chuck Hayes if we have to

Otis Smith doesn't care if a player is unhappy. If he thinks a guy on the bench/inactive list is useful to the Magic he'll keep him. See Diener and Reddick, both spent a few seasons unhappily on the bench.
