Eh. I'm not pining for Bosh. Wade would be nice. Lebron's off the table. My issue was you implying that Houston somehow isn't a favorable destination for NBA playes, despite the fact that notables like Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Steve Francis, Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest have all been brought here in recent memory.
I'm not implying that the city and the arena itself has anything to do with it...I'm just attacking the fact that salary cap=superstars that someone brought up. And let's face it, it has nothing to do with Houston if the Rockets without Yao and McGrady (the core will be what, Brooks and Landry? Artest isin't staying that long and he's definitely leaving if Yao and Mac do) can't attract Wade or Bosh, nevermind both.
I know you guys are getting a little excited here but... 1. LeBron's not coming to Houston. Either Cleveland or NY. 2. How the hell are you expecting us to grab both Wade and Bosh!? Both are free agents the same year, but we'll only have enough cap space to sign one even if we can persuade them to come play here... The other will have signed a max contract for 5 years and will be sitting pretty in a different city by the time Yao is off the books.
Sure there is Sam, just have another Super Bowl scheduled, or an NBA All star game, Lebron will come for those. DD
with all those big names out, why not grab dirk and nash, and nab one of those 06 rookies. A line-up of AB, Gay, Artest, landry and Yao. with bench of nash, dirk, battier, scola and tmac. Old and injury prone, but anyone of them can win the game for you on any one day.
Fair enough Northside. All I was asking for is some type of reason why they wouldn't come here. I am by no means "pinning my hopes" on this. It was simply an idea to counter this Lebron craze. But rumor has it NY is going to try and sign Bosh and James. I can't see how there core would be much better than ours in 2010. I think its more about two stars having the chance to play together AND at the same time having the money to be able to afford them. As far as the posts about where Bosh and Wade not wanting to go anywhere......you kind of expect them to say that. We all know things can change at the drop of a dime (see Elton Brand). And ShadyMcGrady, you are right on with Yao unless for some odd reason he decides to exercise his ETO. I thought he was coming off the books in 2010, my mistake.
