Is there a snarling dog defensive PG out there who can be had for cheap?

Mario chalmers did well in the summer leagues. Oh no...Please the day he does well in a regular season game is when I'll regret passing on him

I think Pargo can shoot and he is a good PG.

    We don't need a PG.

    We need health.

    Rafer/Brooks/Francis
    T-Mac/Barry/Head
    Artest/Battier/Novak
    Scola/Landry/Harris
    Yao/Hayes/Dorsi

We could cut Francis and sign Deke. This roster is perfect.

Rockets don't need a defensive PG as badly as they need a PG who drives in.

Good PGs don't put much effort on defense but they draw a lot of defense.

yeah, Rafer is enough if your PG's only task is to defend.

Wow -- relax, dude. I was just saying, if the Rockets thought a "snarling dog PG" was a necessity, they would have drafted Chalmers over Dorsey.

Stevie can be our big PG, that guard the likes of Deron, CP3, and such.

He only had two bad season, but before that had been durable for 6 out of 7 seasons. I think he can make a come back and help us this year.

I cant let this myth be spread any longer...D. fish WAS a good defender...but if you watched any laker games last year you would know that d. fish no longer plays defense. Remember rafer burning d.fish? remember d. will buring d. fish? ask any laker fan and he will tell you that d. fish no longer plays defense.

I like Rafer. used to think he was a 20-25 min. per game guy at most, but last year he proved me wrong. I think we need insurance for Alston though, and I just don't trust Brooks to play solid minutes at the point. He's just not ready yet IMHO. Stevie can't be counted on given the injury

... so, we do need a "snarling dog point guard". Someone who can play 15-20. We don't have real depth at that position.

(very happy with our team right now regardless because of the Artest trade, but in the spirit of the thead, I'll throw out a couple FA PGs that might be had for cheap).

    J. Will?
    Pargo from the Hornets?
    Arroyo?
    Cassell?

Really don't like any of them all that much (except a soft spot for Cassell), but as long as J. Will promises not to shoot ;) i could live with him playing 15 behind Alston. He takes care of the ball. Don't know how good his defense is, but assist to turnover has always been solid.
