Maybe the most times a team tied or took the lead after being down double digits? ("A team" could mean either team -- Rockets have both blown tons of big leads and come back from several big deficits) If anyone can track that, I bet the Rockets are on pace to make it high on that all-time list... Similarly, there's definitely gotta be a place I can find for the Rockets' point differential against sub-500 teams v above-500 teams, right? I've always kind of thought the whole "they're just inconsistent" and "they play to the level of their opponents" things were just sports cliches and copout explanations for underachieving teams, but both of those seem to be exactly what is happening with the Rockets so far this season, and the above stats are the best way I can think of to quantify that. Those two things seem like the explanation for why the Rockets are at 500, and have been all season. Any given night is truly a coin flip. They have almost as many great wins as embarrassing losses. They play exactly as well as they need to to keep games competitive at the end. It's completely baffling and frustrating as a fan, so I can only imagine how it feels for the coach... of course some of the blame goes on the coach, too.
Win one, loss one. Play D one day, Play Zero D the next day Play like a team one day, play ISO ball the next day

Just gotta come to terms...this team with Harden and Howard isn't going to win a championship.. to many soft mental midgets on this team..I really thought we had the team to win it all after we signed Howard..Only thing that could help is if we get a coach that has the balls to stand up to them..but even if we get a coach..Howard and Harden will most likely not listen and demand a trade..sad really. This gif says it all...
I do not think you can put all blame on Dwight because Morey went after Dwight when he was already starting to decline in LA. All this he is unhappy in LA was just all talk to mask the declining of a physically imposing but fundamentally so not sound player. The reality was about to show either this season or in 1 or 2 years. Better we know now than later. Harden turned out to be just a spoiled diva and lazy guy.
not sure if this is the same as incosistency but usually when a team has good enough winning record but small point differential it shows that it can be blown out and it also shows that it isn't as good as their record shows and most likely will fall off soon. Usually. At least that's what the analysts say.
We've only lost to 1 good team hahahaha Does this mean we could possibly be a lock for the WCF again? Hahahahhaha
How about the Miami game, 3rd game of the season. Up by 20 in the 3rd Q, then lose by 20. but to answer the question, PT differential is usually pretty good, for stats that are easy to look up.
OK, now you guys are trying too hard to be clever... Not sure how much sense this comment even makes. Foreelz, Harden's defensive effort has been inexplicitly non-existent this year, but you can't put all this on James. The whole team has been epically inconsistent and lackadaisical. Harden is still our MVP... You remove him from the lineup, and we're literally about 4-28.
turn over ratio % and shots not going down Field Goal %. Its the best way to know, also points in the paint. Study those 3 things, and youll figure out whos winning and why someone not lol
as good as rockets look on paper, here a stat that dont look to good.. assist/turnover ration http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/team/_/stat/miscellaneous-per-game/sort/assistTurnoverRatio Look at the teams in the bottom bins. You got to figure Harden has to be a superstar player lol..
variance of points per game and points allowed per game would be pretty good. per quarter would probably be better but would be a lot more work
variance of scores against the spread would be really cool. average of scores against the spread is presumably around zero, low variance would mean the spreads are very accurate i.e. predictable results/consistent performance, high variance means unpredictable results/inconsistent performance
win/loss record. I'm being partly serious here. More wins than losses, you're consistently good. More losses than wins, you're consistently bad. Right around .500 . . . you're consistently inconsistent, and that's us.
