Just prior to the election he fired Lisa Gordon-Hagerty, administrator of the National Nuclear Security Administration, the agency in charge of the nuclear stockpile. Now he's fired the Secretary of Defense and several others. This ******* is maneuvering for a coup, positioning sycophants in the military and trying to undermine trust in an election he obviously lost. I keep listening to these people on TV talking about trusting in the institutions but Trump has spent four years undermining them all. The only institution that matters in a coup is the military.

Not chance of any type of coup. I also fail to understand how Trump doesn’t come out of this looking like a complete b**** if he tries to continue stretching this out much longer.

Is it a slow motion coup in real time or a real time coup going very slowly?

This is basically the dry run for the 2024 coup by the ReThugs (though, Trump too dumb to know this). Popularize a stab in the back metaphor so that if there's an actual close election you can steal it, like you did in 2000.

I think this is a lesson that our constitution works as is. I don't doubt Trump would take absolute power if he could. But he can't.

This should serve as an example why people should stop encouraging drastic changes to our form of government.

trump is trying to create as much wreckage for President-Elect Biden as he can, flailing around while in the middle of a nervous breakdown, whining, yelling at everyone, pretending half the time that he's back on The Apprentice, his stupid reality TV show. Going by who he is firing and is reportedly about to fire, Vladimir Putin is whispering in his ear. trump is busy placing the United States of America, our country, not his, in great danger.

One of our enemies may decide to take advantage of our current weakness. Russia in the Baltic states, China moving against Taiwan or the Senkaku Islands and Japan, or any number of islands in the South China Sea. All would be very risky moves for either country, especially Russia, but either one may view this as a chance brought about by American political chaos and its absence of leadership as a chance they feel they can't pass up. Fingers crossed that they maintain more sanity than trump possesses and continue to sit back and watch.

Relax bro. Who would follow Trump in a coup? Secondly he's rich and he has Presidential retirement benefits. Who would his selfish ass be couping for.

He ran to build his brand. He saw the opportunity to win. He doesn't really care that much

There is not much they can do, this smells more like a coverup than a coup. I'm sure they are in there destroying all evidence of crimes and idiocy.

The problem is, these people are so stupid and incompetent, they won't be even be able to do that.

On January 20th, the secret service will escort Trump out of the white house and Biden in.

A foreign power doing something right now gives Trump justification to do more crazy ****. Kim and Xi looking each other like that crazy hot mess isn't worth it.

We're probably extra vulnerable to covert **** though. Things extra embarrassing that no one wants to admit and would rather cover up because we'd go to war with it or Americans would want answers for...

As for the coup allegations, totally relieved Trump only thinks about himself and made enough comments about suckers and losers to show what he really thinks of the military.

He prob thought he was some Repug Prophet and they'd instantly follow him, like when he brags about "grown macho men" breaking down and crying when they meet him or Gold star families being touchy and clingy.

    Context, you dirty shitbag...

All I will say on the issue is that Donald Trump’s personal attorney on television said that the Democrat party orchestrated and coordinated massive voter fraud across ten states with the premeditated purpose of preventing Donald Trump from winning the Presidency.

He claims that democrat officials forced Republican poll watchers 30-40 feet further than where they were and submitted hundreds of thousands of ballots for Joe Biden that were fraudulent.

They aren’t even claiming a number of independent voters or people decided to file ballots for dead people. They are claiming wholesale, planned out and stealthy execution of voter fraud executed in 20% of the USA.

The evidence offered so far? NONE

Yet the President’s claim has still resulted in Pennsylvanian Republican house leadership stating they will do an exhaustive investigation and the vote will not be certified until they complete their investigation.

Rudy Giuliani has discussed sending their own separate electors to vote for Donald Trump. Something that the Supreme Court has ruled is unconstitutional.

The President has “claimed” Georgia and Pennsylvania and I believe Arizona as his electoral votes and that he is the proper winner.

The Republicans need to be careful. Many Trump supporters believe that Trump is fighting for them. However, if he does attempt to steal the election, against the will of the people, there could be dire long term political consequences for Republicans.

Lindsay Graham has already staked his reputation on Trump and his claim of a rigged election.

This isn’t good for the USA or democracy. President Trump has purposely made outrageous claims about our political system and supported unfounded conspiracy theories because it helped him politically.

Yet for all the outrageous and damaging claims he has made, not a single one has proven to have merit.

Our system is predicated upon the assumption and truth that our leaders respect our fundamental institutions and have the interests of the country at heart. So now we have someone essentially refusing to abide by the norms and values of our country and no one in Washington knows what to do.

So for as outrageous as it sounds that Trump is positioning himself to take control of the government and claim victory, based on track record I cannot say it is impossible.

People such as Pompeo and Graham and Pence have shown they will actively support Trump at all costs. The Secretary of Defense was tired by Trump for pointing out the consequences of some of his directives. The SOD was called a Trump lackey by some. Today he came out and said he was not a yes man. He also said God help us for who replaces him will be a lackey.

Trump has a pattern of hiring and firing people until he finds someone that will do what he wants without question. We see it with Pompeo and and Barr.

At some point people are going to rightfully get nervous.

Trump will have rallies and do fundraising for his 'court cases' because he can use half the money raised to pay off his massive campaign debts. It's the whole reason why he's doing it. He needs to pay off campaign debts. The added stink he's spreading is icing on the cake for him. It gives him publicity which he loves. He gets to do rallies which he loves, so it's all win for him even if it's all lose for the rest of the nation.

The sad thing is that many of supporters are buying into it.

The question is, can Trump pressure Republican state legislatures in PA, MI, AZ, GA, etc to break away from sending the electors they are suppose to.

That might be their thinking - as given by the cryptic statements from some GOP folks that the president will be determined by the electors.

I would not put anything past Trump. He wants to "win" at all costs - and does not understand that he has already lost. History will not look back at him kindly.
