I never talked about point differential.
and you can see that patriots can score at will, and Broncos only have beat 1 team above .500 (Pittsburgh) and Manning only had 17 points against the chiefs.

Rest/health are huge factors, as we saw with the Giants spanking Green Bay after a bye week. Our defense has been beat up and it has shown the last couple games.

If we can somehow beat NE and clinch home field a week or two before the end of the season, we will be in great position to make a playoff run.

I'd have to say yes. But we are still good. But not "machine" good.

IF we beat Pats and get Homefield could we just rest our starters the rest of the way? or is the having that "momentum" more important?

I might be in the minority but having Brady and Manning come here in a dome (Reliant) might not be to our advantage. Rather play in a snowy place like Denver and NE so we can control tempo and play to our strengths.

I'm starting to worry about the pass rush. JJ Watt needs help, or he will begin to become less effective.

Interesting thought. Especially considering our pass rush hasn't been elite.

it's nothing new. back in the golden days when brady was winning championships and not bringing orgasms to fantasy dorks, workers at foxboro, while interns secretly rolled film, were asked to water the field and a accidently forget to cut it.

The hoody already cries about our field. can you imagine it with some water added to taste.

Record is not misleading. If we were talking about 5-1, you could make a case. But if you're 10-1 in the NFL, you are a REALLY good team.

I'm not sure why so many here have such a hard time accepting that and are so eager to discount every single win. It's a strange phenomenon.

    Agreed.

After 11 games, every team has played some good teams and some bad teams....at some point, you are what you are.

So you are saying that they aren't as good because when they try to run the score up no one can stop them? I don't get your logic. Denver is better because they have to fight to score the points they score to win. New England is worse because they can score at will which leads to lopsided point totals...

during the mediocre years it was all "you are what your record says." now it's "you are what your record says, unless you're the Texans at 10-1."

The record is not misleading. These aren't the 6-0 Josh McDaniels' Broncos.

I am saying the TExans point differential could be just as high if we left in our starters (Gronk) when we were up 3-4 touchdowns or threw 50 yard bombs when the game is already over. We don't do this.

I am talking about point differential...... not the ability to score. Denver's point differential is lower because they run the ball and take out starters once they get a big enough lead.

Umm, Denver AT Mile High in what was nearly a blowout. Baltimore by 30 and save the injury excuses, they won their next four games. And they beat the Bears in Chicago who were at 7-1 at the time.

They have to be nervous about the big stage because when you look at the difference in total yards for the first half in New England, they aren't being blown out stats wise, just making boneheaded mistakes and not cashing in on golden opportunities.

But if they lose tonight, it'll be a nice humbling defeat that will grab their attention as they head down the stretch.
