When I first saw this thread, my reaction was "Hell NO!" Now, I'm less certain. Destroying teams with bad offensive lines only proves that we no longer suck. But doesn't show that they're great.

Our offense still looks good. Even though they might not have put up the points or the yards, the running game is certainly consistent regardless of competition. IMO this is one area of consistency that IMO would make the offense still the more reliable side of the ball.

Not really. He didn't create either, just happened to be at the right place/right time.

being at the right place at the right time has alot to do with playing good defense. I think if Joesph has two Defensive TDs along with the 3 INT he would be in the early talks of Defensive back of the Year.

The NFL alumni picks yearly winners. I Aqib Talib won it last year, Charles Woodson before that.

Another game that the offense could not put the nail in the coffin.

    I wish I could re-open the poll,

The defense was not stellar, but it was good enough for us to win the game, The defense showed up when it was needed, The offense, on the other hand. Completed failed us. With Jacoby, Matt and Kubiak on this team.....I just dont know anymore.

I thought the defense was great. 1 FG was the result of a Schaub tipped pass/interception. Another was the result of a blocked punt. In both of those cases, the defense didn't allow a first down and it was only because the Raiders were handed good field position that they scored.

Another FG occurred because of the failure of special teams on the fake punt. The defense didn't allow a first down on that drive. It was 3 plays, fake punt, 3 plays, FG. So that's 9 points that were allowed when the defense didn't allow a single first down.

The Raiders were held to less than 280 total yards. The NFL rushing leader barely got 50 yards. Campbell only completed 43% of his passes. We had a pick and 3 sacks (and 11 QB hits, a season high).

I'll take a defense that only allows 16 points any day of the week, especially when we have an offense that should get more than that easily.

We handed the Raiders 9 points. Their offense didn't have to do a damned thing to get them. And that was the difference in the game. Take away the special teams screw ups (including Rackers missed FG) and the Schaub INT and we win easily.

    Yes and No.

Wade's defenses get BETTER when his team has the lead. The most likely way for his team to get the lead is to score first (which the Texans have done at a GREAT rate this year).

    Goes hand in hand.
