All the NBA needs to do is show how the process is done live. Other wise there will always be suspicion.

If the NBA is fixing the lottery, they suck at it.

The Knicks haven't had a top 2 pick in all their years of sucking, and star players keep ending up in terrible markets.

Those star players always end up leaving those small markets to.

Bingo, I wouldn't use E&Y as a gauge of the NBA's ethics or maybe...

In the past at least, the actual lottery was open to a few people in the media. I remember reading an article about the whole process. Don't remember where, maybe the NY Times. It may still work this way.

If you are a reasonable person and can use critical thinking it's not hard to see things are fishy. I want to believe everyone gets a fair shot, but let's not be naive.

If Rockets don't get a top pick, draft is rigged and the Rockets won't be rewarded twice.
If Rockets do get a top pick, draft is rigged because the NBA sees the star power of Jalen Green and wants to make sure he's on a good team.
If Rockets don't get a top pick, draft is rigged because the NBA is under the sway of sports media and they all hate Houston.
If Rockets do get a top pick it's because the owner had mob goons threaten Silver.
Whichever way you cut it the evidence is clear: the draft is rigged.

The lottery is fixed unless we get the #1 pick this year.

I’ve always thought the lottery was fixed towards teams that lose a big name star.

Yup. Definitely fixed. How else do you explain the media powerhouses of Cleveland, Detroit and Houston getting the top 3?

It might have been fixed under Stern with envelopes and a one man show . It’s not now with independent auditors and team observers. As with any conspiracy theory, the question of “how can so many people keep a secret?” tends to go unanswered…

    Lottery fixed for who?
Look at the current bottom feeders.

    Bot 5 teams
Rockets magic pistons thunders and pacers.

    Probability isn't guaranteed.

I don't think it's rigged rn cause I don't think the nba cares about any of these teams including ours.

When the Lakers were sht mighty weird coincidence that they got the number 2 pick
3 years in a row. Couldn't make it too obvious though.

There was a time when the lottery could have been fixed. When all they did was reach in a bucket and pull out an envelope with a team name inside, you could pull off some sort of shenanigans (like the rumor of the frozen envelope). But that was back in an era when the NBA finals were televised on a tape delay. It is now big business and the draft has to be highly regulated.

Each team should insist on having a representative present. And I’m sure an accounting firm oversees the entire process. I just don’t think the actual process of pulling balls lends itself to TV. It’s not the same as state lottery drawings. Each team has a certain number of balls. Once you have one drawing, you have to remove all of the balls from the selected team. That may be 2 or it may be 40. Then you have to replace all of the balls and do the process again. I do think that video of the process should be made available later, but as long as you have the other elements in place, I don’t know that it’s necessary.

I don’t think it’s rigged, but sometimes it’s fun to think about the possibilities with a conspiracy theory.

We got the #2 pick last year, and if that is what happens again, I'm ok with it. Chet or Jabari is just fine.
