Last year they only did one retro night and they used the jersey we all know and love from the championship years. This year they are doing retro just about every couple of weeks and they use an obscure jersey that most people have little connection with. They should have used the championship throwback this year. I could not care less about the retro jersey they are wearing now. But seeing them last year in the old championship jerseys just sends a tingle down your spine. Bad marketing decision by whoever made the choice of jersey this year.
I don't know about that. I seem to remember getting stomped repeatedly when we would use that one as our retro(of course that might have just been cuz we stunk). How about we use the pajamas as our retro? just joking
I don't think our players should be allowed/able to wear the 94-95 retros until they win a championship. Last year's team was undeserving of that honor
Enjoy it while it last. The Rockets wont have another retro night for a very very long time after this season. I look forward to the day they play in the old San Diego Green and Gold. But unfourtunately last I heard the Rockets Marketing department frowned on that idea. It's a shame we dont embrace our history like the Lakers and Sixers who have new retro jerseys almost every season. We have T-Mac and Yao, so I dont know what they are scared of, they will sell like hot cakes regardless. Last I checked I think T-Mac was top 3 in jersey sales, so a new T-Mac will fly off the racks. But, next year if they are smart they are probably just going to ride the alternate jersey sales (i love starting rumors).
