Same goes for Tmac. There is no way he would fake an injury yet half the board flames him for his knee. We were pissed when he played poor on the knee, then pissed cuz he apparently quit on the team when he was 1-10, then pissed when he missed a game cuz we played decent offense against Denver, then pissed when he played a nice game against Chicago cuz he didnt do that more often. Yet here is Francis who is too lazy to get in shape, then gets minutes and plays one or two decent games, then looks absolutely atrocious for a couple games, then goes out with the Flu. Still, this board creams their pants over his heart, and toughness, and attitude. If he wasnt a former Rocket, would anyone here even remotely like this guy? I doubt it.
I never said anything about T-Mac. In fact, I'm a HUGE T-Mac supporter and hope we don't trade him. With that said, Do you know the history with T-Mac? He has had a bad rep for not trying his hardest. The biggest knock on T-Mac throughout his whole career was his lack of motivation. So when he has that kind of history, and has poor performances like the game in Toronto, fans are going to question him. There is no doubt in my mind that if T-Mac had the same desire and motivation as Kobe, he'd be the best player in the NBA hands down. Fans love Francis because Francis loves Houston. It's very rare in today's game that a player as so much loyalty for one City/Team. Especially after that same team traded him away which most likely caused the downward spiral of his career.
I wasnt trying to single you out about Tmac cuz you are right about not saying anything bad about him. I was making a reference more to how the people love Francis and give him every bit of a benefit of the doubt, yet hammer Tmac every chance they get. Makes even less sense because the fate of this team has nothing to do with Steve Francis and a whole lot to do with Tmac. I understand that Tmac's playoff history in Houston is no wins. But in the Dallas series and the Utah series he was clearly the best player. His numbers were great and say what you want about him not showing up at the end but without him we dont make it anywhere near game 7. The Dallas game 7 was a total blowout, but the Utah game 7 would have been as well without Tmac playing how he did in the second half. Also, say what you want about Steve and his heart, but he has no playoff series wins and a whole lot less playoff appearances. I get that he loves Houston. But so does Mike James, and this board blasts him. My question is if Steve has so much heart, why cant he get in shape. Shouldnt any professional put the work in to get in shape, especially if he is doing it for the team and city he loves so much?
you think he doesn't want to get in shape? we see the desire if you see steve's face after a bad play or bad game. tmac and mike james just smile, like its nothing for them, like they just received their last big contract. (which they may have) like a poster said before, knee tendonitis is caused by overuse. and best cure is too rest. and rest = gainning wait. ask bonzi, he had a groin injury that caused him to be over weight, since he was just relaxing the whole offseason.
