Is the dealership trying to rip me off?

    Wow, that is a lot for engine mount repair. What kind of car do you have? I know a place I go to was only charging me $500 to replace all the engine mounts in my uncles Mitsubishi Galant.

    I'm sure if he looked around he could find a much better deal. If I could afford it though, I would always stick with OEM parts. I go to a an independent mechanic in Austin that specializes in Honda's and Acura's. I took my car last September for some issues and they corrected those. Their labor per hour was probably like $15/hour less than what the dealer charged, so it turned out pretty well for all the work I did (Main Relay, Actuator, Oil Change, and a few other issues).
