Has Dallas beat anyone really good? Have the NYG beat anyone good, other than Dallas? We may have almost the worst quarterback, but our division definitely isn't the worst.

AFCS could have a final standing of 10-6, 9-7, 9-7, 2-14. It may not have a representative in the Super Bowl this year but it has 3 teams that can go toe-to-toe with anyone (besides maybe the Pats) in the league.

i think the AFC south lacks an exciting team. the teams are not well rounded and are winning and losing ugly games. Each of the Texans, Titans, and Colts can win or lose against any team regardless of ability.

I dont think anybody who isnt a fan of these team is anticipating their next game.

Its a division with no clear cut complete team. Each team has glaring holes, but each team has NFL quality areas of their foitball team, be it defense, offense, or special teams.

The AFC South could have a 10 game division winner and two other teams at .500

The South is improving, has mostly sucked recently. Strictly judging W-L this season, the NFC West is the worst, but they have a proven winner and teams with much better recent success. The South's champ routinely gets blown out on national TV or barely escapes defeat. Maybe better health next season and/or a surprise run this year helps change perception.

I imagine the Seahawks a few years back when they won what was a truly weak division with a 7-9 record. I know there is a desire to downplay anything the Texans do by "Texans fans", but compared to that, the AFC South is amazing.

Texans currently own the 3rd worst point-diff by a division winner in league history.

Texans have had major injury since Week 1 though... and the division sucks.

So you are claiming that a 7-9 division winner from years ago is worse than the Texans.... as if it is some sort of accomplishment.

The Texans are not the worst team to win the worst division in football history. They are just a mediocre franchise blessed to be playing in a division that has historically not been very good.

    Nothing more and nothing less.

No, it's just pointing out a fact. Just like it's pointing out the fact that many "Texans fans" live to talk down any accomplishment the franchise makes. It's just how it goes. No one talked down winning the AFC South when the Colts were doing it, but the second the Texans dominate the division....oh well it's really not that big a deal. Those grapes are probably sour anyway.

Read the threads... posters still WANT to win the division, there's just no confidence in advancing.... And yeah, the division sucks.

So what? The Texans winning the division and potentially going 10-6 is a huge accomplishment given the injuries they've faced. Hell, if they get to go against the Raiders, they could even get to the 2nd round of the playoffs!

Do the Texans have such an amazing history of accomplishment that fans should expect deep playoff runs with what's left of the team? Personally, I don't think so.

Texans fans should expect a good playoff run once in 15 years of existence.

Arguing "be happy we don't suck like we used to" is McNairry.

    Define "good"?

There's also teams that haven't even made the playoffs in the Texans existence, let alone had a "good" playoff run.

So is the argument that if they don't make the Super Bowl in a season where they've had to deal with crippling injuries, then it's a failure? Yikes. That's a ridiculous way of looking at things. The fact that they still could be 10-6 despite it all is a pretty amazing accomplishment and suggests really good things for the future.

Now if the Texans were healthy, sure, you set the bar a bit higher, but damn man, expecting a Super Bowl during a season like this is crazy talk.

since Texans came into the league, The almighty and unstoppable cowboys have won not 15, not 14, not 13, not 12, not 11, not 10, not 9, not 8, not 7, not 6, not 5, not 4, not 3, BUT TWO! playoff games.

    It's not that easy.

No... silly leap by you. Texans have had a very good season, all things considered. The '11 squad did great, all things considered. Moral victories do get old though.

The Cowboys have earned plenty years of ineptitude. They're respected by people who matter.
