I emailed lance from 610 about this last week because Granato said something about it after the last game they lost and Lance said he didn't care. I was like you must be kidding, he wrote me back saying there is no problem with his shooting that's not the reason they were losing. I was like there is nothing good about his shooting right now. It doesn't matter against scrub teams because his overall talent usually prevails but it matters against good teams.

Well I remember watching him when he would take it to the hole and not just settle for only shooting jumpshots. Mcgrady is starting to make me feel like he is made of glass. He won't take it to the hole because he is afraid he will get hurt. I mean these injuries are really becoming a concern and affecting his game.

So having a back problem means you are made of glass?

Im guessing you've never experienced severe back pain.

I have had a disc removed from my spine. I know back pain more than anyone you will meet, but that has nothing to do with my post. As the years have gone on Mcgrady has become more and more injury prone and has become a fragile player. It is not just his back either remember the knee problems and how much time he has missed due to tendonitis and that it does not go away. Remember when he said his body felt like he was 36? Unfortunately is seems like his body is starting to break down on him faster than most players. I hope that his body holds up a few more years for him so that the rockets can have a chance to make a few good playoff runs.

yeah, but the important thing is when McGrady said that, it was an April Fools joke.

how else are you gonna psyche out the other team?

if not of course, spine replacement surgery is something we'll have to look into.

I wonder if he opened the email this morning because they talked about this very subject.

Funny, the first thing that went through mind mind was "I wonder which bbs member emailed him about this" because they never talk about the Rockets.

what was the gist of their discussion. When I emailed lance last week I wasn't trying to be negative, he was just acting like the shooting percentage was of zero concern. He was like " I don't care about that". I do agree with you about one thing, tracy mcgrady like hakeem always looks like he is taking a good shot.

nah he's not shooting well because he's testing his teammates to see if they could deliver if he's injured again. preparing for the worst you know? also it's to prepare his teammates for the playoffs. they can't just rely on him all the time! of course he'll give it his best when rockets play more challenging teams.

I am not sure if it due to his back injury or nose injury but looking at the last 8 games his:

    FG% is 37%
    3pt FG% 25%
FT% 66% (he has been missing alot of free throws lately)

    This is definitly a concern.

    last 9 games:

    .360 FG%
    .245 3fg%
    .640 FT%

considering he's taking 1/3 of the entire team's shot, it's a concern for me. i don't care if it's his back make him think twice from going inside, that's an issue he needs to overcome not the team. AI hurts all the time but still gives his all to the game, I meant it's all about mentally tough. T-Mac is soft :(
if this is what we'd expect from T-Mac & his "feel old" body for the rest of his career i say trade him while he still has value.

or can we trade JVG for PJax? maybe the Zen master can make T-Mac tough up.

the question is now should t-mac be playing. something is obviously wrong, those stats are terrible. I know someone's gonna come in and say they won 4 in a row but they didn't win that because of his shooting.

there's something wrong with him. it's kinda sad watchin him hit nothing but the rim. or sometimes even airballs. he is even missin layups. that's not mcgrady. i think he is in pain and he wont say it cause if he goes out now..he knows theres not gonna be any playoff run.

I think we'll know whether his shot is a concern in the next few games, especially the Suns game. TNT should have come coverage on any injury he might have if there is any, but Phoenix runs a very offense friendly style of game and McGrady should have plenty of opportunities for open looks.

C'mon man. Soft? You can say T-Mac shouldn't be shooting as much or that maybe he shouldn't be playing at all, but I really don't see him as "soft." He is trying out there for crissakes. And furthermore, trading him during one of the worst streaks of his career doesn't make much sense does it? Think we would get equal value??

We've matched up well with the Suns in the past. Yao will probably have another big night.
