Yes he can do all these things better than rafer altson but can he really mentally vibrationally defer. He does all these things with the unlimited green light and unlimited time to fill those stat sheets. But can he defer can he organize the game for tracy and yao ming,Is he compatible with them, can he play off of them, Can he break a press and find the open man,can he push the ball without over dribbling,Can he catch and shoot,Can he play without the rock.

Does he compliment tracy and Yao better than the others is the question and since we don't see them practice then adleman and his coaching staff would know better than us fans.

Like I said in yesterday's game thread, I don't understand why stevie can't swallow his pride and just work on his bodies. If you want to win so bad why wouldn't you be motivated to at least have your body at the best shape?

Meakness is a virtue and clearly he doesn't have it.

If steve is so much of an upgrade over Rafer why isn't he playing. It must be something that we don't know as fans for the reason he isn't getting any light. Coach adelman being a veteran coach has to have a reason why steve being the upgrade that he is, can't get into the rotation.

Hope SF will realize that he needs to get himself in shape and work hard to derserve PT. Otherwise, it's just unfair for his teammates. He also needs to know that he's no longer "Franchise", and can be a key role player. I believe that RA is a coach who will reward a player who works hard and has a good attitude.

The good thing is that even without SF we are still winning and have a decent depth in bench.

Not sure if Yao has had a conversation with SF about his current situation. Hopefully Yao could play a role in getting SF back in shape.

Ding ding ding ding ding ding!

We have a winner here folks.

Step right up and shake the man' hand.

How many teams has this guy got to quit on, (apparently going back to high school) before everyone gets this guy.

This was one of my points in the "Why Have Reserves" thread, but many of the responders are under twelve, so the thread is going nowhere. Given the guard's HORRID shooting in the last few games, you would think that at least some of the bench players (not in the rotation) could get a minute or two. Something is going on. As long as the winning continues, this kind of "hardcore" approach about the current rotation is not a front burner issue, but it will become one if this shooting continues and the losses start accumulating. Personally when the rotation players are seriously sucking, I would like to see Brooks, Francis, or Synder get a minute or two. Geeez. They couldn't do worse.

Didn't the TV announcer during one of the games that Adelman expected Francis to start this year, but that he didn't earn the spot. If that is true, I sense Morey's hand in it.

They are 6 and 1. Jacking around with rotations is bad for the team. You act as if shooting is the only thing that players do. The long term benefits of having a stable rotation and players learning a new system together outweigh the short term gain you *might* get if you experiment with your line-up this early in the season. We don't know what's going on in practice, either. I tend to trust the judgment of the people who see them everyday.

If Francis is in the doghouse, then it sounds like he deserves to be there. We don't need players who don't want to work, who expect to be handed jobs on a silver plater and put about it if they don't earn their spot. It's not surprising that the best players on the team are also the hardest workers. Steve needs to get his mind right.

Why do people keep using this as some kind of Great defense for Rafer.

"RICK ADELMAN KNOWS BETTER" than announcers, fans, experts blah blah.

If this was the case then coaches would NEVER get fired. LOL. THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK!

And we started last year 6-2. Even with losing Yao for 30 plus and Tmac for almsot 10 we finished with 52 wins. Yet we still lost once healthy in the playoffs on home court exposed at the PG and PF position.

So we are going to lose if we don't play steve francis. We must play steve because we were 6-2 last season and we still lost.

So why are we even rooting for the rockets if we are already doomed ?

Who's judgement are we supposed to trust ?

Shouldn't we allow the season to really begin considering we have only played 7 agmes. Why is the world going end because steve francis hasn't played yet.

We have 75 more games remaining

The day we traded him to Orlando I think mentally his career was over. He seems to have a pretty fragile ego and something like that can be devastating when you're deemed "the franchise".

His career was still on the uphill swing, then Rudy gets let go, he gets traded, his buddy Cuttino is traded away, and then he's shipped to the NBA junkyard in New York.

Bonzi wasn't quite the same because he wasn't as big of a star as Steve was. Bonzi got lucky and got his favorite coach back...unfortunately for Steve, Rudy won't be back in the league anytime soon.

Dreamshake's point (correct me if I'm wrong) is that despite our record, we still have a pretty glaring weakness at PG and our PF situation is not much better. These are the same issues that we had last year and we might be bound to repeat the same outcome as last year.

Steve Francis is a better player than Alston. We have a hole at PG. Francis needs to be put into the rotation.

Francis, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. We have some new people coming in, and we need all the space we can get. So if you could just go ahead and pack up your stuff and move it down there, that would be terrific, OK?

Yes. When James and Bonzi are having an off night, it would be nice to have Francis or some other offensive weapon to give a boost. Even with our depth, this team still struggles when those two are having off nights....

    What is his trade value?

Could we get a 2nd round pick?
