this is the same steph curry who played all 6 games of the finals last year averaging 42 minutes a game with 26.5ppg/5.2 reb/6.3 ast? thats underperforming? and how is his record 4-9???
Kershaw is left handed. Curry is right. Your argument falls apart right there. In case you're wondering, my comment is as useful as this thread...
Kershaw should have NEVER received 1 single 1st place vote for Cy Young! Just 'lol' at Klayton Cershaw for being arrogant and cocky...
Good point! Also looking more closely, it doesn't seem that Curry's total postseasons stats are quite as bad as whatever the NBA equivalent is of Kershaw's postseason stats. I agree with others that you can't really compare sports. So its simply a comparison of regular season dominance vs postseason "ineptitude". But upon further reflection, I would have to answer my OP as no. It doesn't seem Curry postseasons are quite as bad as Kershaw's. And of course there's 1 ring vs 0 ring as well.
Curry suffered an MCL sprain that he'd probably have rested longer if it weren't the playoffs. I don't think he qualifies as "injured," but I also don't think he's going to be fully 100% this playoffs. He's missing a bit of explosiveness, which hampers both his slashing and his ability to laterally break away from defenders for three-pointers. The Warriors IMO were lucky that A. they have a lot of talent outside of him and B. he was back at anywhere near his old self in time for the most challenging part of their run.
So the Peyton manning of the NBA pretty much. Always known as a great regular season QB and a playoff choker until recently. Although some will argue that the defense carried Peyton in both of his SB titles
This is a pretty weird analogy. Even if you think Curry has been nothing special in the playoffs (which I wouldn't say the numbers support, beyond the first three games of this series), winning titles doesn't make him anything like Manning. Maybe you could call him the NBA's (young) Tom Brady, as lots of people felt Brady was carried to his initial titles by great defenses.
Curry is #9 all time in NBA scoring, right behind that dude named Hakeem with an average of 26 points. Clayton has an ERA over 4 in his playoff career.
I forgot the word "playoff." I thought this topic was about Curry and Clayton's playoff performances? 1. Michael Jordan* 33.45 2. Allen Iverson* 29.73 3. Jerry West* 29.13 4. Kevin Durant 28.79 5. LeBron James 27.87 6. Elgin Baylor* 27.04 7. George Gervin* 26.98 8. Hakeem Olajuwon* 25.90 9. Stephen Curry 25.75
