"Spanoulis To Miss Games Against Rockets, Spurs
    October 3, 2007 - 4:01 am
    Euroleague.net -
Vassilis Spanoulis, one of defending champion Panathinaikos's major offseason signings, will miss the team's upcoming series of exhibition games, including two in the United States against the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs , after suffering an injury in training Monday.

The 25-year old guard, who returned to the Greens this season after playing for the Rockets last year, hurt his left calf, which will sideline him for the next two weeks."

I'm sure anyone with an ounce of brain matter can understand if he feels uneasy about playing in Houston.

This Spanoulis thread will never ever go away. Correct me if I am wrong, this is the only scrub in Rocket's history that people always talk and mention about. C'mon fellow fans, we MUST forget this guy forever!

I would think he was relishing the chance to play in Houston.

I hope he gets better, and wish him well.

Not sure why people want to laugh at a guy when he is injured.

What did he ever do to Houston?

He had a problem with his boss, a boss who can sound a bit tyrannical. How many here have not had a problem with a boss?

Whatever... I doubt he's worried about any reception he might receive because he didn't get along well with JVG.

Same thing can be said about V-Span and how he handled his NBA career. To sum everything up, he quit on the team. Remember the last person who quit on us? Yeah, I bet Pippen still gets booed if he played today. You can't quit on the team and expect the fans just to forget about it and sweep it under the rug. That's why lost of fans are giving him a hard time, you don't quit on the team like a loser.

And it's just too much of a conicidence that he mysteriously gets a calf injury that just happens to sideline him for the US game. My take? He's afraid that he'll under perform and not live up to his own hype that he talks about. He's afraid of getting abused by our many PGs and not being able to show why he should have got more playing time.

Sorry but V-Gina gets the Pippen Treatment. They belong on the same boat.

I see so JVG who quit on the Knicks gets the same treatment from you, right? I mean you need to be consistent.

For the record if a player or coach wants out, they should leave, you only have one life or one career.....they should do whatever is best for themselves.

According to some JVG lovers, Gundy *refused* to accept the contract extension offered to him by Les. That officially makes Gundy a two-time quitter.

Umm that isn't even the same. He quit on the Knicks, and I think they play in New York. I could care less what happens to other teams not in Houston. If JVG quit on Houston, then yes he would get the same treatment. But he didn't, he quit on the KNICKS. I'm sure there are some Knick fans out there that dislike him for that among other reasons. C'mon, you gotta do better than that if you to throw in a JVG cheap shot.

I guessed you missed the Utah Series. The coach was definitely missing in action. He quit on Houston. Not to mention he was offered to stay several times and he refused. The guy has a history of flaking out when the going gets tough. Ah, but he is gone and none could be happier.

Ok, well turning down contract offers is not qutting. His contract was already up, he is free to do what he please. He "quit" in the playoffs is your opinion, many people don't see it that way. I'd say he was out coached but he definitely did not quit. If JVG quit, then I have to say our players quit also because it's not JVG that didn't get the rebound, let AK hit that 3 or not foul earlier than we did.

Sorry but not accepting another contract offer isn't on the same level as V-Span or Pippen. Nice try though. Funny, you guys talk about JVG not taking those contract extensions like you actually wanted him here. But let's break it down. He didn't want to sign a contract extension in the season because he didn't want to cause a distraction. Wait a second, the same folks that are getting on JVG for not taking an extension are the same ones that said JVG never really received those offers. Where's the consistency in the JVG hate?

But we do know one that is a fact, V-Span quit on the Rockets. There is no way to dodge the REAL question here, even with all the JVG hate you can summon. And the last time I checked, this was a thread involving V-Span, not JVG like you haters turn every thread into.

I hope the Rockets draft another white boy soon so we can forget about Spanoulis.
