Funny how people (generally speaking) want change from core pieces now. As opposed to previous years. You see many want Capela gone because of one poor series and “ can’t switch on D”. Paul because he’s “too old and paid too much”. Gordon because he’s not perfect. Whatever. Remember the days when people were killing the Rockets/Morey for not keeping the team together and letting them grow as a team? Hell, those teams were nowhere near title contenders and people were pissed about not “letting the team mature together”. I do agree that this team needs a couple of pieces in order to win it all. Just not so sure it’s wholesale changes.
i hear you, but if management hadn't pissed away our trade assets (knight contract, draft picks, cash allotment) in a massive salary dump parade, then we wouldn't need to trade away core pieces in order to improve. and right now basically all our conference competitors have gotten better in the past week
We are solid, but definitely need a 3 upgrade so EGO can go back to 6th man, an actual tall 4 as a back up to PJ and a back up at the 5.
The first two months of last season were an unmitigated disaster. I don't see how we could do any worse than that.
Ready for the big sequel? Rockets are shooting Run It Back II Ready for Run It Back, Part II?! Or are we already at III? Originality is out in Hollywood. Summer sequels can be so confusing. [...] The R-rated version: We’re fed up and frustrated. You can have everyone — especially Chris Paul if you can afford him — except The Beard. Our coach might not make it through next season. The PG cut: We love everybody — especially CP3 and Mike D’Antoni — and can’t wait to get the same old crew back together for more fun next season! [...] In past years, the Rockets bonded with a pre-training camp trip to a warm, sunny place. Just imagine how this year’s vacation is initially going to go. Player 1: Who did they try to trade you for? Player 2: How many teams wanted to trade for you? Player 3: I’ve got to be honest, man. I didn’t think I’d be back here. Run It Forward. The Same But Better. Houston’s NBA team was on the verge of breaking itself apart. After teasing major change, the Rockets could be better by simply staying the same. Run It Back II. Player 1(CHRIS PAUL TO CLINT CAPELA): Who did they try to trade you for? (JIMMY BUTLER TO NO AVAIL) Player 2(CLINT TO CHRIS): How many teams wanted to trade for you? (NONE. TOO EXPENSIVE.) Player 3(ERIC GORDON): I’ve got to be honest, man. I didn’t think I’d be back here.
