    somewhat agree .

bringing in Dwight was good . We all thought the Ty Lawson deal was amazing lol . He then moved off a window closing with Dwight to getting CP3 and opening up another one .

But , I do think he was always too quick to make a move because of the potential to be better vs letting the current guys try to gain more Chemistry .

he’s an insane risk taker .

I wonder if that’s how he plays ping pong .

his first few drafts were so money . I think we had pretty bad injury luck literally Everyone outside of harden . Patterson had an injury . TJ and DMO injuries . Brooks , Lowry had a ****ing infection !

Also bad luck to be at your best when GS is healthy .

It felt like at some point we just stopped catching breaks .

the real best attribute for an NBA GM might be luck

Well, he sure is taking too long to find a home for Wall and Eric.

    Is House still around?

It don't even matter because unlike Jrue who thanked the Pelicans, PJ didn't give any mention of the Rockets for dealing him to a winning destination.

    Associates Vs Assets

Morley lacked the human touch that Stone seems to have. Its a big part of managing different personalities and genuinely giving a damn about all of his players and not just the "stars" on his team.

I didn't realize that anybody thought the Ty Lawson deal was good.

On the original topic, the answer is YES. Stone even said so in one of his first media events. Obviously it's not the only reason, since he puts Rocket's interest first.

The reason is what most folks expect: show good will to current players (publicly), to demonstrate to other free agents that HOU is a desirable destination.

The biggest issue I had with Morey especially early was his obsession with constantly trading role players away and not allowing them to develop team chemistry and treating role players as assets instead of people. There was a period where it was hard to recruit players here because of it without overplaying for them. I sometimes wish that they left CP3 at the clippers and kept the gang together for another year.

Stone wants to give them all a happy ending and the Rockets are left cleaning up the mess.
