Are you insulting Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett here? I think he gets in. You don't have to be a dominant player to make it into the HOF.
Bird just edges them out on an intangible? Bird probably was THE best player of the 80's. Ray Allen's ability to create off the dribble is underrated. If Ray Allen had Rajon Rondo outside shooting ability, he'd probably still be 2nd round pick material.

ok, I should have stated it more clearly, I guess my wording implied something else. My point was just in respect to shooting, bird was an all around player if it means anything now.
Probably does get in, but it kinda makes me wish the HOF was more restricted to the elite of the elite players, so it makes it more legit.
He gets in for the same reason Bill Walton did. The Basketball HOF includes your college and pro careers.
Not that it matters here because Ray Allen will and should go to the HOF, but you're talking down to Reggie Miller by comparing him to Ray Allen. Reggie was always better than Ray.
i agree with this. ray allen is alright but i don't think he is HOF material. once you start letting mediocre players in, they're going to be the bench mark for other players in the future as well.
Personally, I rank Ray Allen a shade below Mitch Richmond, who hasn't been inducted. Allen, not a future HOFer, barely, IMHO.
Garnett had more FGA per game, more points per game, and a higher shooting percentage than Allen that season. What would lead you to believe Allen was the 2nd option?
the only people talking sense here are 99ers. Jesus will get in the Hall of Fame no problem and make Jake proud.
This times two. He might be one of the games most pure shooters ever. As for the guy who think Reggie Miller should also be there...well, he didn't really do anything but shoot.
I think it's close, but I think Ray Allen is better than Reggie Miller. I think clutch shots have really inflated Reggie's reputation; he was really a one dimensional scorer and Ray may be an even better scorer, game in game out I don't think Miller was better than Ray Allen. It's not like Ray Allen lacks playoff success either; he had some very good runs with the Bucks and even led Seattle to the second round, and obviously the ring.
I agree. And if you look at their career #s, they are almost identical, except for the fact Reggie played 4 more years. IMHO, neither one are HOFs. HOF in NBA should be tough like they are in MLB. If we have to let one in, I will say Allen is the better player. Allen didn't need to do the "kick the leg out" trick to get a cheap foul call. BTW, when are they going to let A-Train into the Hall?
