I don't see how asking such a stupid question fits with your bbs persona. I cannot find a good angle on this one.

I can understand you wanting Hillary to use race against Obama, but why not just leave it at that? Why open (and title) your thread with this question?

I guess it is kind of cute because more than one poster has accused you of racism or racial insensitivity in past racism threads?

In any event, I will answer your stupid question and then the other semi-stupid ones. Yes, racism is alive and well. Some people (probably more in the South but then look at Boise, Idaho recently) will think it is disgusting to look at a picture of a white-black couple...but that wouldn't reflect any more poorly on Obama because they will already have disliked him for being a darkie. Hillary could use it (even though her husband is black) because I wouldn't put anything past any politician. Rove would definitely use it. It is an will be an issue, even for those who are not "overtly" racist. There will not be a black president any time soon.

allow me to translate this for you T_J, putting it into basketball terms, since I "am out of my league in D&D",

it's not wise to play to the opponents strength (ie, Rove's "disgusting tactics" and "unscrupulous behavior") now, is it?

    what?

is Hillary better at it than Rove?

haha...i thought you did that on purpose. now i see your Edit.

see, this is proof that racism is still alive when Fox news' "unscrupulous behavior" of "innocently" mispronouncing Osama's name causes a darkie like pgabriel to misspell Balack's name in a thread about Rove's "disgusting tactics" re: using the race card.

Racism will always exist. But today it's better than it's ever been.

I'm more concerned about the over-the-top, borderline (or beyond) irrational way a pretty large segment of the American body politic feel about Ms. Clinton. You've mentioned it before. I see this all the time, "in real life," and it has little basis in fact, but the fact remains that, despite everything, her husband is far more popular than she is. Freaky. Now perceptions can change pretty dramatically in politics, but she has some high negatives to overcome, and she's had them for a long time. I personally believe that a great deal of it is based on sexism, the fact that she is a woman, and there is a certain segment of women that still remain locked into that "it's a MAN'S world" view of their role in life. They are a minority, but she won't be able to count on them for votes.

well two things about where the hatred comes from,

obviously they felt she overstepped her boundaries with her healthcare plan. first ladies aren't supposed to be trying to implement real legislation. I actually can understand that, she's the president's wife, not an elected official. first ladies have causes, not legislation.

secondly, so many people wanted her to kick bill out, and she stood by her man. it would have been a better drama if she just put him on the couch.

Is religion intolerance still alive today? How will the Christian base play the polygamy card against Rommy? And given that Rommy's name is a masquerade version of Hitler's best tank commander's nickname, would Giuliani use this Nazi connection against him?

On the other hand, does Giuliani fear his pro gun control, pro abortion, for gay-right stances will be use against him? Would Rove put so many multiple spotlights on them that even shadow could not escape from total destruction? Does this man only has three wives or does him, in fact, practice polygamy secretly? What about GIULIANI's tie to Italian mafia? What? His dad is a big time criminal doesn't ring a bell and cause alarm? Is this guy on the no-fly list yet?

    Engage these issues and discuss.

Yes it is still alive and it is why Obama has very little chance of winning.

The only chance the Dems have right now, IMO is to convince Al Gore to run, and put Obama on as the VP candidate.....that is a winning ticket.

I can't believe the dems might throw this election by either running.

A.) The first female candidate in Hillary - No chance of election
B.) The first real African American candidate with a Muslim type name.

There are way too many ignorant voters who would vote for ANYONE other than those two.

Unfortunatly, Racism is alive and well.....though I believe it is waning.

I think the Republicans are still worse off. Unless Congress deteriorates even further, the Dems, any Dem, looks likely to be the favorite.

I'm ill informed about our history..from whatever I know...which is little :D …. has the white man been the most prominent abuser of the racist ideology? IF true, why?

Can we blame capitalism as being a factor in causing these racist ideologies?

I know these questions are off topic, but just curious to how some of you guys view racism?

I just don't think that explains the reaction she gets from some people. Does anyone of intelligence truly believe that she came up with the idea of this universal healthcare plan, and leading the attempt, herself? In a vacuum? Bill was surrounded by a host of intelligent people. (unlike Mr. G. W. Bush) There is no doubt that this was run through focus groups, through endless discussions in the West Wing. They just blew it, pure and simple. They misjudged just how viciously the medical and pharmaceutical industries would react. They misjudged that the general public was ready for it. To put all that on Ms. Clinton is ludicrous. And "overstepping her bounds?" In my opinion, it was more about her being a woman than being First Lady.

As for her and Bill? How do we know what their relationship was during and immediately after the Nitwitski Affair? For all we know, she could have been an ice cube to Bill for a very long time. Who knows? They do.

    I'm just sayin'... ;)

I disagree if you think that Barack's name or race, or Hillary's gender will not play into the minds of MILLIONS of voters.

I am just being realistic here, I am doing the ABB vote, (Anybody but Bush)......

But just like when I voted for Kerry in Texas in the last election, I knew I was pissing my vote away.

Same thing if the Dems run Hillary or Barack...neither have a chance to win, IMO.......

And at this time in history, the dems need to play it smart, just win baby.

Is Obama black enough for the African American vote? Does he act too white?

I guess T_J is waiting for a 20yr old liberal to respond in a way that his Rove talking points has a response for.

    what

so, my prediction is that come tomorrow or Monday or sometime some college or hs student will response to this thread in some predictable liberal manner and then T_J will unravel him.

    what
