Well Mchale wasn't the most athletic post player either. He had up and under moves, drop step and great footwork but didn't impose himself physically. Most recently I think Landry is who Patrick should watch tape of. Carl player much bigger than 6'9" and was a load in the paint.
I'm giving him another year, but confidence in him is obviously starting to dwindle. I don't know how many more awkward flip layup misses I can take. Although, I have a feeling a full training camp is exactly what the kid needs.
I thought the exact same thing. Landry's game should suit Patterson the best. Pat has the mid-range jumper. He has the size. He has the athleticism. He has a good understanding of the game. He's not as quick as Landry, but other than that, he should be able to do more. Above all, he needs a truck load of confidence.
