WTF? You would LIKE to see the Clinton taxes come back? I'm assuming that you have issues with the budget deficit? How about we cut spending to achieve the result you're looking for as opposed to taking money from the hard working people of the USA
Bush Sr raised the taxes. Clinton kept most of it, but he passed some relief for the middle and lower class.
pfft, the middle and lower class will just blow it, the rich people will invest it, because their smarter, how could any idiot give relief to the middle class, I mean just look at what the economy was like during clinton's era. no tech advances, because the rich didn't have anything to invest and a terrible economy, pfft,
W. Buffet challenged the richest people in the USA with the offer of him paying 1 mil to charity if they would admit they pay less % of their income in taxthen their secratary. I feel they should pay a higher percentage.
Warren Buffett (who I have met and had lunch with, btw) is so unbelievably rich that his opinion is invalid when discussing taxes. He doesn't feel any pain when he pays them....the guys is now the richest man in the world. Buffett is referring to the fact that many of the rich pay less in taxes since their capital gains income is taxed at a lower rate. This rate needs to be set lower to encourage investment. If you look at the marginal income tax rates that the rich pay, you'll quickly see that they are much higher than Joe Sixpack's marginal rates.
there it is, the republican issue. everything else is b.s. people. they don't care about terror, iraq, our troops, all they care about is the capital gains tax
Who cares about marginal rates. The more you make the higher your marginal rates are. Thats how it works. Anyways that is irrelavant if the % of a billionares taxable income is less than a person making under 100K. That is a problem.
Why can't Obama put his hand on his heart during the national anthem or wear the flag lapel pin? These things anger me as a proud American, and also reveal a lot about the character of Obama
the guy who could have worked on wall street, but chose to be a community activist, you question his character over a stupid ass lapel. I understand, your values tell you because he didn't get rich, he has poor character.
Stupid democratic demagoguery. Rich people suck - let's punish them for doing well in life, and by the way - let's punish them additionally for investing their money in American businesses. Barf. If you want higher taxes, Obama is your guy. F him
LOL Obama would never have made it on Wall Street. Have you seen his r****ded economic policy? What about his even stupider idea to raise taxes when our country is on the brink of a recession? It's clear that he's utterly ignorant on economic and fiscal policy. Or were you talking about him working for a hotdog stand on Wall Street? He could probably use his deep voice there, at least
oh my bad, I didn't have anything to respond to the brilliance of obama would be selling hotdogs. I was to busy laughing at that excellent piece of comedy, brah
That’s not fair, man. Equating all Republicans with these 3 is like me equating all Democrats with glynch. There are a number of issues that matter to me in this election. And yes, my wallet is definitely one of them. But there are others. I don’t think that we can just leave Iraq after the mess that we created (and yes, I acknowledge that the mess was created by a combination of ignorance and deception by W). I think leaving will do more harm than we can bear, and if McCain was listened to at the beginning, the progress we have seen in the last 6 months could have happened 3 years ago. And maybe we’d be on our way out of Iraq. I think the economy is going to be a disaster zone in the next 6-9 months. The credit markets are completely seized up after going through a bubble that eclipses the tech bubble of the late 90s. This restricts corporation’s access to capital and prevents the investment a healthy economy needs. Consumers are way overextended and now that the housing bubble is blowing up, they can no longer rely on home equity loans to fuel spending. Commodity prices are going crazy, fueling inflation. The economy is in trouble, and I’m not sure either of these candidates know how to fix it. I will say, though, that raising taxes (and therefore restricting consumer spending) and restricting free trade won’t help. And yes, I want to keep the money I earn. I work a lot and in a very stressful environment – and because of that, my tax returns say I’m wealthy. But, I drive a 5 year old car. I rent a 2BR apartment with my girlfriend. I went on one cheap vacation last year for 4 days. I go out to eat once a week. I’m not denying myself any necessities, but at the same time, I’m far from extravagant. I’m saving a lot of money because I have an idea to start a business and I want to be able to fund it when the time comes. I don’t think that makes me evil. I like Obama because I think he can inspire people and help mend some of the damage that W did. I think Clinton ver 2 will only make the divisiveness worse. But on 2 of the 3 issues that I think are most important, I think McCain will do a better job. And on the 3rd (economy), I’m not sure either of them will do it right. All Republicans aren’t one issue voters. We’re not all racists and homophobes. We’re not all war mongers. I’d love it if people would stop assuming that the loudest and most annoying member of one group represents the whole group.
