Here is a few, its pretty much a given Obama will raise taxes, the question is by how much. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=143865 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=143115 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=143161
No, it was Bob Marley. EDIT: Sorry, it was actually Bobby McFarrin. Bob Marley sang Don't Worry, Be Happy. My bad.
Yeah, Opinion pieces based on what Obama has said. How about this one from CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/09/18/obama.taxplan/index.html
Long Term Capital Gains Tax at highest bracket: McCain: Keep at 15% Clinton: Reverse to 20% Obama: Between 20% to 28% This doesn't also include the cost that healthcare plans will burden small business and their increase in labor costs if Clinton or Obama are elected. Also, if Clinton and Obama continue their anti-globalization binge, it will increase the cost of virtually all everyday items, furniture, homes and more. I think those three issues really make my decision easy. As the economy has begun to weaken, you don't want to kick it while its down.
republicans just ought to cut the b.s. and run exclusively on the capital gains tax. its the only issue they are true to.
You've been living on credit for a long time now, because of previous governments. It's time you start paying some of what you owe.
Well, here it is again, the democrats beating the self righteousness drum. Hate the rich, appeal to some kind of warped fairness that they "owe" the government something. Demagoguery at its finest. FranchiseBlade, the more I hear from you, the more I think you are simply brainwashed by feelings of horrible self-guilt and self hatred. You've been duped by the democrats' talking points for so long that you've lost your ability to reason and make decisions. I feel sorry for you.
As per the wondrous thread title: only the imbecile or the zealot can fail to understand the difference between pride and love. You love something like a child, parent, or nation unconditionally. You are not proud of everything the child, parent or nation does unless you are an imbecile, a zealot, or both. I have not been proud of our nation's every move over the last 8 years. However, I deeply love this nation.
Thanks so much for the sympathy, dude. I guess I'm just imagining the national debt and the large percentage of our budge that pays for absolutely nothing but the interest on that debt. So while you didn't mention anything of substance I thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes.
here's someone who's proud to be an American. [rquoter]The Good German Really: Jamaleldine doesn't even crack a smile when he talks about how, in 1991, he joined in anti-American protests on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm boulevard during Operation Desert Storm. "That was the way it was back then," he says. He was 15 and "America was simply the enemy." It took a full 14 years before Jamaleldine finally -- and radically -- changed his views on the Americans. It was on June 6, 2005, in the middle of the Iraq war, when he showed up at the US Army recruiting office in Little Rock, Arkansas, to enlist. Jeff Jamaledine is a German citizen, born in Berlin to a German mother and a Gambian father. He now lives in Germany after having served two tours in Iraq and having been wounded twice. The second wound was nearly fatal--he was shot in the face at close range in a battle that claimed the lives of two Americans and at least 27 jihadists. It's really one of the most remarkable stories I've read of action in Iraq. When Jamaledine was shot, there were no medevac helicopters in the area. There were Apaches. But the Apache is a two seater--no room for cargo, or wounded. When the call went out--by a soldier who was himself wounded--that Jamaledine needed to be evacuated immediately, one of the Apaches landed on the scene and had him strapped in. This meant the co-pilot had to "hang on outside" for the trip back to the base. Both of the crew were risking their jobs, but they got Jemaldine out. The Apache's crew then rejoined the battle, with the co-pilot sitting in a pool of blood for the rest of the night. Spiegel quotes an argument between Jamaledine and his father over the war: The father ends up saying: "I am in favor of peace." To which Jeff responds: "But someone has to achieve that peace." The father repeats: "I am in favor of peace." That sounds an awful lot like the argument between the candidates in this year's election. When asked what his personal contribution to peace has been, Jamaledine responds, "killing terrorists." Will the American people find that answer more persuasive than the candidate who simply keeps repeating "I am in favor of peace"? PS: Jamaledine became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2006. Let's hope he comes home soon.[/rquoter]
It might have something to do with the pseudo-socialism combined with his high chance of a victory in November. If I were a betting man, that might be why.
what's the point of crying about the difference between a 15% cap gains tax rate and 28% when the dollar is tanking 50% under hyperinflation anyways! just move your little nest egg offshore already and stop with the whining.....it's the true american way
Well they do "owe" taxes. Bush repealed those once he took office. I would like to see the Clinton taxes come back.
