we can all speculate fo hours on end, but once again houston may just be getting used as a leverage point, let us hope not though :p

We would be bidding aginst ourselves if used for leverage. When you have the most to offer nobody is competing with you. So my guess is we arent being seriously considered. If that were the case we would be seriously talked about since we are clearly in the highest position of strength and cant be leveraged ourselves. So Carmello isnt considering the Rockets and neither is Denver. If we are we would be in the lead discussion. We are leverage to those other teams so let Denver get squandered like the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland. Yes it makes Knicks better when they get him. Think about what we accomplished? Suns got weaker, Jazz, now the Nuggets. All West teams getting weaker making the Rockets chance sof moving up much stronger now. Lets not help Denver get more out of New York. Just let this Carmello subject die unless Denver really says they are serious about the only team with all the assets and therefor all the real leverage.

    why not?

a weaker NY makes the draft picks we hold more valuable.

I know. I am just worn out on all this speculation this summer. The new excuse this time will be because we arent "New York". Whatever that means? Means we are the Champions over New York then yes I agree. For supposedly fans and free agents it means something else. I dont know. The team that won two championships like us alot longer ago and lost to us in our Championship is all it means to me though.

So Tmac and Yao in New York? Amare and Carmello I mean. Same results I think first round exit every year with no depth and then Amares knees dont let himmake it through another whole year again ever.

Knicks may not have sufficient trade bait to acquire Carmelo Anthony :)

Looks like New York is finally realizing that Morey screwed the Knicks just like we already knew from the T-Mac deal :)

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...trade_bait_to_acquire_carmelo_anthony_fr.html

Carmelo Anthony is making it known that New York is his preferred destination, but the Knicks may not have the assets to satisfy the Denver Nuggets, according to a person familiar with the negotiations.

"What do they have?" a Nuggets source said. "That makes it tough."

There are reports that the Knicks' offer would include Eddy Curry's expiring contract, a future first-round pick and Danilo Gallinari, although Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni will try to replace Gallinari with Wilson Chandler in a proposed trade for Anthony.

Anthony is scheduled to become a free agent on July 1, but the Nuggets will likely deal the All-Star forward between now and the February trading deadline if he declines to sign a three-year, $65 million contract extension. Anthony's college coach, Syracuse's Jim Boeheim, said last week that he believed it would be difficult for Anthony to not sign the contract.

While Anthony, who was born in Brooklyn, wants to join the Knicks, there are other clubs he would consider signing with if they traded for him, including the Nets, Bulls, Rockets and Magic.

No deal for Anthony is imminent, especially since Denver is in the process of interviewing candidates for its vacant general manager job. The GM's first order of business will be to convince Anthony to sign an extension. If Anthony insists on being traded, there is no guarantee he would be dealt before the start of the season.

Those picks and that trade exception are looking very, very shiny right about now. It can't be coincidence that hours after we trade our small forward of the future, a better one becomes available. I think its just a matter of time before we're all rockin' Carmelo Anthony Rocket jerseys.

If melo really wants to play for the knicks he can just wait till he becomes a free agent and sign there. This where Dmorey needs convince him his better off playing with the Rockets. Morey get your Ipad ready.

Money is always more important no matter what kinda BS the player is spouting. With the lockout looming next year I think it benefits Melo to agree to terms this year.

He may want to play for the Knicks, but he wants every single last million that he could possibly make.

I've been saying this since last year, since Morey made a fool out of Walsh. They have nothing to trade.

If Carmelo wants to REALLY go to NYK, all he has to do is say "This is the only team I want to go to." and there. But if rumors are correct and Carmelo is open to other teams then I don't think NYK have a good shot at him.

Ah, that trade was so great. We picked up enough assets that we can afford to make a trade, while at the same time basically taking out the competition in New York.

In all honestly, I think the Nets actually have the best chance in getting Carmelo.

They got Troy Murphy who is a legit PF to play with Lopez so they can trade away Derrick Favors. Add T-Will in that list and probably a couple more players. Would be a great way to rebuild the Nuggets after that.

But hey, get er done Morey.
