How does that not lock him up for GM of the year?

Gary Sacks (Clippers) is the clear frontrunner. If Rockets win 47-48, Morey may have a chance.

Morey definitely deserves it, but in order for him to get the award, the Rockets will have the make the playoffs. It's going to be hard to reward a non-playoff team's GM as the executive of the year

No, perennial ninth seed does not warrant EOTY.

If he can get SVG to sign on for next year I will happily become his personal fluffer. Until then no, he is not a lock for GM of the year.

Gee, thanks. Awesome data! How is the weighted age calculated? And any data on the average "NBA" age? There was a time players must finish college to be eligible for the draft. Teams back then would have an older biological age but not NBA age, if you get what I mean.

My guess is that most executives view Morey signing Harden as a lucky turn of events.

Oh well, maybe he can get it next year after he assembles the new Big 3.

No, most executives are just in denial of the requirements to contend.

I get it. The Nuggets are a fun little team, and everyone wants to see them win because it would give hope to every team without a superstar. But you need multiple All-Stars to win an NBA title, and they have zero. They're not even moving in the direction of acquiring one. Perpetually good, never great. Ho-hum.

Denver is a complete fraud, but they succeed every year in suckering in gullible sportswriters and rival executives who want to believe the "All-Star requirement" isn't real. Guess what, guys? It is, and you can give Denver every coach/GM award you want, but it doesn't change their first-round exit. Again.
