From day 1 Crymelo stepped onto the NBA basketball court, people already labelled him as Glenn Robinson Part II and he still is as of today!
No, he is elite. He's a top 10 player in the game, top 5 scorer, and a top closer in the L. He's a #1 option on a top tier team. Very all-around offensive game. Defensive game? Not so much, he's not as big of a liability as he was before, but he's just average now. Rebounding wise he's good, too. He's an ideal fit for a team that runs a triangle offense as his post game and mid-range game is just amazing for a swingman.
Glen Robinson never averaged nearthe top of the league year after year in points and never led a team as the main player to a high playoff seed. Mello is of course a Elite player. There are very few ahead of him I would choose. Chris Bosh isnt one of them.
Melo's elite. I'm sorry but he is. Kid can drive to the basket, rebound (shockingly to some, with 7 a game over the last 3 seasons), and a better defender than he used to be.
Melo is elite, no question about it. He is not a guy like Bosh who has never won a damn thing in his career. From day 1, Melo turned Denver into a successful franchise. There are about 10 elite players in the NBA and he is one of em.
He's not in the class of a LeBron, Wade or Kobe as an all-around player, but he's an elite scorer. Though Anthony's probably not a top 5 player, I'd definitely put him in the top 10.
Ye he is, absolutely. I gotta lot of respect for his game. Awesome mid range game, very strong down low, great closer, great scorer. Dude is definitely legit elite
i remember when the season started last year, Melo was playing top 3 basketball. he was a leading candidate for MVP the first couple of months. he eventually slowed down a little, but i would still put him at elite status (top 10 for sure)
He's a clutch time player and plays on teams with good records. Still gets a lot of prestige off the NCAA championship. His first 3 years in the league was obviou "Lebron got his so I gotta get mine too". Lebron left him in the dust, which enabled him to be his own player. He matured a little more to where he's a legit go-to guy. He's had his moments. I'd say he's slightly overrated. Kevin Durant is a skinnier version of what Carmelo should be. I wouldn't. Durant is slightly better.
Well IMHO people generally confuse skillsets with actual production. You see Melo's complete offensive game and you immediately assume the guy's elite. This is exactly where advanced statistical analysis comes in handy-it separates the wheat from the chaff for you. I don't see how you can argue with the numbers splayed out in front of you-if the numbers show he's average compared to other players, then that must be true. The only reason this might be wrong is if the measurement is wrong, and offensive efficiency is a very reliable metric of offensive performance. Melo has all-world talents but he isn't clicking in Denver, and the stats show it. Either the system is wrong, or Melo hasn't learned how to play with other people.
ummmm, He has made the western conference finals, Denver is now considered a contending team. How many players can say that? He does not fall into the category of Bosh or Monta because he wins games, plain and simple, and he has since he entered the league
Numbers are just blinding you then. Denver is more than likely considered a top 3,4 team out West, and reached the WCF just a year back. Sure, that may not be good ENOUGH. But he's certainly a top tier talent. IMO the triangle offense caters to his offensive abilites, but even without it he's still good. You can argue numbers, you can argue opinions, but you can't argue results. Denver is a damn good team with Carmelo at the helm.
