Is MDA really that great of a coach?

    He runs great plays coming out of timeouts.

    MDA is a visionary. Steve Kerr ran with MDA's system in Phoenix and the Warriors get all the credit for implementing the same system. MDA's philosophy has always been the 3 ball/space & pace, and he believed it would change the game of basketball. He was right. Unfortunately, bad breaks in Phoenix, and stints in NY and LA tarnished this vision, as folks thought his was stubborn in his ways and that it wouldn't work in the NBA since he couldn't win the big one. Steve Kerr adopted the same exact philosophy in GS, only he had the right players for the system, which resulted in two championships.

    This has to be bitter sweet for MDA. On one hand he has got to feel good that now all teams are moving towards this style of play, on the other, he still hasn't one the big one yet. The unique narratives for MDA, Harden and CP3 are going to be pretty sweet as we ride this wave to the championship.
