We will be wallowing in mediocrity. There is a limit to the advantages of saving money. I'm not proposing picking up long term contracts either.
Why management has not realized this much we won't get any where important with a Yao/Mac lead team we pretty much figured this much out after 6 years of frustration. They choked on the Rudy Gay trade and the injuries to both of Yao and Mac have held the team hostage the last 6 seasons going on 7 i think. At some point you get the idea that either they go all in aquiring more impact players to surround them to compensate their weakness, or they move him and start from scratch which only takes a season to accomplish. You get my point i hope. I've been fed up with all the talk about injuries and advancing the last 6 seasons which don't cut it any more with me. They either go all in trading essentially nothing more then role players on good contracts or young prospects to obtain 2 garnett lite type moves with picks, or throw Tracy in the gutter while the chance still is visable with Yao out another season. At some point something is going to give the Yao/McGrady/Role Players is not enough to win a chip these days.
The great thing about Tracy though is how he constantly manages to lower the bar from our most cynical expectations.
