on yesterday's game alone, what was he if not clutch? we all know, if that was VY leading the team back you'd be jizzing all over the board.

Andre Johnson with the first down pass on the right going out of bounds wasn't clutch? Jacoby Jones with the TD pass in the endzone wasn't clutch?

Every bit as clutch as VY's Pass to Kenny Britt in the back of the endzone between defenders

Yet nobody was trying to say that play or heck that drive was anything but clutch.

Agreed. Vince's drive was great and I'm proud of him, but lets not downplay what Schaub's done. A couple of made FGs and his "clutch" factor is not really an argument. Its not really a tough one now.

Yep, it's case closed at this point. Might as well keep bumping up the thread though, Schaub will be around a while.

What does that have to do with this conversation?

I swear, for some of you guys, the world stops and starts with Vince Young.

Was VY's 11.9 qb rating in a do-or-die game clutch? Serious question.

I will give you guys clutchness in yesterday's game.

But overall, I think he has a ways to go.

Honestly, if he gets a running game, I think I might view it much differently...because a lot of my feelings on Schaub are because I think he handles pressure poorly.

The Texans had a pretty mediocre offensive line (especially after injuries) and no runninggame most of the year. Opposing teeams KNEW Schaub was going to pass, and that they could put on the pressure.

    Yet, Schaub still did this- 4,770 yards, 68% passing, 29 TDs, 15 INTs, 8.2 Y/A, and a 98.6 QBRating.

Yep, I'd say he handles pressure pretty well.

Honestly in the games we were able to come back in, how many of you doubted that Matt could get us downfield to at least tie? How many times did he do it? Brady is considered by many to be most clutch in the game and a lot of that is on Vinateri. Just some perspective. Thats the last thing I'll say on that.

Yep Brady is considered clutch on those superbowls (especially the first one aganist the rams) but is because vinatieri made those FGs, if Vinatieri misses those FGs, Brady is not clutch because he didnt win those superbowls.

Is the same with Schaub, he led his team to FG range, and the kicker missed them, if kris brown made those and goes to OT, you would say he is clutch?

Yeah, well, I can't give everyone the intellect to discern the difference.

At this point it's abundantly clear that DD is just trolling everyone. Like Charles Barkley does with the Rockets.

No, I just disagree and am looking at it as an objective NFL fan, and not a Texan's fan.

I didn't say he sucked, he had a pretty good year, but this thread is about whether he was Clutch or not.....and he made too many poor decisions at crucial times this year for me to put him in the DD's thinks he is clutch category.

I can't help it if my standards are different.

Schaub consistenly made great decisions. You dont come back on the Patriots when down 27-13 and win the game by making bad decisions. You don't get a near 100 QB rating by making bad decisions. You don't put up stud stats with half your starting OL out, no runninggame, and your awesome TE out half the year.
