It certainly helps his argument. You can't put missed field goals and incompetent runners on him. He did EVERYTHING he needed to in crunch time, the team didn't deliver.
No worries, I fixed it for you. Not everything, but he did do quite a bit, I will give you those games as examples of what he could become..... DD
Eh, football is a little different than basketball. I wouldnt call this the T-Mac defense since Schaub doesnt catch the ball or run the ball or block. Or play defense. In Basketball all the guys are expected to do the same thing. This is more like the Marino defense when asked why Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl.
One announcer asks the other if Schaub is a top 10 QB.. the other announcer says he is. Also, you can't discount the fact that we're dead last in rushing offense. It's all Schaub out there.
Schaub also has the most yards on the road of any QB in the NFL this year... plays pretty well in hostile environments
Yep Trent Dilfer was so clutch. Oh and Big Ben was too clutch for me in his rookie season when they won it all.. And the biggest one of them all -- Dan Marino was NOT clutch.
Read through the thread. DD stated that Schaub has a rag arm. He also said that he is average at best. Clutch or not, Schaub is having a pro bowl year. Do you disagree?
Just for some perspective http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/recap;_ylt=AjA8JAZuerNkjUAWU.TSoh5DubYF?gid=20091228003 I'd rather have six 10 point comebacks than two 30 point comebacks and lose the rest of course. But thats a lot of attempts. Or Favre needs to play the Texans more.
I think Matt is clutch for leading the team for a nice try for a FG, but the kicker missed, look Tom Brady, in those superbowls (especially in the SB vs. the Rams) Brady led the team to FG range, so if Vinatieri had missed, the legend of Tom Brady as a clutch player, wouldnt be recognized because he would lost that superbowl. Im not saying Schaub is better than Brady (career wise) but you got to see what the QB does to your team, and if he puts the game to win it or to go to overtime.
another reason DD's(and Cometswin) precious W/L stat is nothing more than fluff. Matt Schaub's 2009 "W/L" record... 8-7, statistically one of the NFL's best QBs of 2009. Mark Sanchez's 2009 'W/L" record... 8-7, statistically one of the NFL's worst QBs of 2009. try again DooDoo.
