I have not said it is "all on him"......but he is just as UNCLUTCH as the rest of the team. While not the whole problem he is part of the problem...that pick 6 against the Cardinals hurt, the one agains the Colts hurt, or maybe the fumble.... I mean these are crucial situations that Matt gums up....and he does it too often to be considered Clutch. I am not saying he SUCKS at QB, that was Carr, I am saying he is an average QB, who puts up good numbers but chokes in Clutch situations. DD
he has led this team on numerous comebacks, last time I checked, that is clutch. Sure he thre a pick 6 against the Cards, but he also took control of the team in the second half, produced 3 TDs and put them in the situation to win. When the game is on the line, he puts them in the situation to win the game. His team has simply not come through
Every QB has unclutch moments. Brady had them last week and against the Jets just to name a couple of games this season. Manning has thrown 10 plus picks also. With your logic, Brees has just become clutch this season but had a better season last year. He is not just an average QB. Lynch has been raving about him in the telecast. You're too stubborn to admit when you're wrong. The guy is going to end up with 4500 plus yards and hopefully around 30 touchdowns. We would in the driver's seat for a playoff spot, if it wasn't for coaching & the amazing Brown brothers.
He's not the most clutch player in the NFL...but he is reliable and capable...definitely a top 10 QB in the NFL. He is not one of the problems of this team. He is one of the few answers.
DooDoo came to his conclusions based on a thread he started in a different forum. that means all 50 members here in this thread, and every national media outlet is wrong and DooDoo is right.
It's the selective memory DD has. Schaub was the main reason we were knocking on the door for OT and that was against the NFC champs. The same team that spanked the Vikings last week.
Watching the halftime show.. The guy all the way on left says that "Houston.. ppl aren't talking about playoffs, but maybe they should be talking about Matt Schaub Jimmy."
He really does have selective memory...only the negative stuff as he never acknowledges positive CLUTCH drives Schaub has had (yes DebbieDowner, he has had some) PS- Vince Young is a below average QB
Your AVERAGE quarterback: Matt Schaub's 336 passing yards is the third-most any NFL QB has had in a first half since 1991. Only Brees and Brady had better halves
LOL - Don't forget that he's average AT BEST according to the great talent evaluator. But this game doesn't count to DD. Us Texans fans are lame and accept mediocrity
No, it means that people who look at Schaub through none rose colored glasses can see him for what he is...warts and all. Yes, he can throw the ball fairly well (except the out pattern), but this is not about that, this thread asks "IS HE CLUTCH". And no he is not. I am glad he looked good today against those nasty Seahawks, they are brutal !!! Enjoy the win, I think they earned it....and Matt has a chance to be Clutch some day......he might get there..... DD
I have the unique ability to view things through surpremely educated glasses. I know what players are, and what they will be... I can not help it that I have this gift, and I am sorry that it is so difficult for the serfs of the world to understand. DD And yes, I am having fun
I will agree to this...BUT......does Schaub not have the ability to audible? I mean a Clutch player would, right? DD
Remember Game 7 vs Utah in 2007? McGrady had a stellar game. Did everything he could. The rest of the team crapped the bed. We lost. Was that UNCLUTCH of Tmac?
Honestly, I don't think Kubiak has given Matt that amount of leeway. Rocket River then again . . . why not . .I don't think Kubes would chew him out if it didn't work . . . .Kubes is not that kind of coach.
how many times do I have to say this.... I AM A KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FAN. Do you think I enjoy making that claim? I don't have rose colored glasses on for anything Texans(sans Dre). I am using common sense.
