Yes, he is clutch. What he has done with absolutely no runninggame and a horrible offensive line is outstanding.
Man. . . this thread has taken a NASTY Turn. This is what I think of when I think UNCLUTCH or CLUTCH FOR INSTANCE Peyton Manning UNCLUTCH MOMENT Championship game against Steelers. Down by 3 or less Steelers are going in for the touchdown . . BUT WAIT the defense picks up a fumble and take out to beyond the forty Peyton Manning had over a minutes [I think nearer to 2] to get a touchdown or field goal. HE COULD NOT TAKE THEM 20 YDS TO MAKE IT A LESS THAN 50 Yarder! UN FRICKING CLUTCH Every QB has UNCLUTCH Moments. The question is . . . Are those moments the norm or not the norm. To me . . .Clutch is doing something MORE than Expected no one expects you to march down the field in less than 2 minutes so . . .when a team . .a player is a part of that. . . they are CLUTCH SO THE QUESTION IS: 2 Minutes on the Clock. The Ball is on their own 20 Yd Line. They are down by four . . . How confident that Schuab can get you that touch down? Rocket River
Fairly confident that Schaub could get us to goal line. Predictably, Kubiak would ok a play that would allow Chris Brown to mess up the drive somehow. He's done it against the Jags and Cards. The halfback option play wasn't at the end of the game but you get my drift. Although, Schaub did drive the team down the field last week on our last possesion with ample time left. We just couldn't stop MJD when it counted most. It's been pointed out numerous times that Schaub has had clutch and unclutch moments. Let's not forget the kicker blunders we've also had. Sigh, we are just going in circles. As far as DD goes, he just doesn't watch all of the games in their entirety. How can someone have a "rag arm" and put up the stats Schaub has ? He is def not the fastest guy but he has shown that he can scramble here and there. Anyways, Schaub has areas to improve. The sideline throw is a glaring weakness for him. Also, holding the ball a tad bit too long is something he needs to work on.
I watch all the games......and one scramble vs 40 duck down and take the sacks says it all..... His arm is average at best, he will never make that sideline throw as well as others...the holding the ball bit? Well, that says a bit too....but because this franchise had David Carr for so long they are willing to overlook similar tendencies in Schaub. DD
In that case, VY's arm is below average at best. We'll see how your position changes after Schaub torches the Seahawks and Rams. I have faith that Schaub will also play well against the Dolphins & Pats. I'm just hoping that Kubiak doesn't figure out a way to screw it up again.
Point 1 - They *are* the seahawks and rams *grin* I said earlier that Kubiak doesn't allow Schaub to be clutch and folx tried to run me out of the thread Rocket River
Oh, I think there may be something to that. But nobody listens to the voice of reason. Always opposite ends of the spectrum, there is no middle ground.
Brees had 223 passing yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 picks against the Rams. The Saints won a close game with a help of a kickoff return for a TD.
So Peyton became clutch after he finally won one? Not trying to compare Schaub to him. Just wondering if you considered him clutch or not..
Vince has a stronger arm than Schaub. It's just not as accurate. You guys just make stuff up when it comes to Schaub.
I said his arm is below average at best. That combines strength with precision. What's so hard to get here ? Schaub has a better arm.
He's not Joe Montana or John Elway... but Matt Schaub is a far better QB than you give him credit for.
Perhaps.....but I think people are just happy he is not David Carr....and are satisfied with mediocrity because of it. DD
