the guy I forgot is Ben Roethlisberger, which goes to show how underated he is, no one has mentioned him.
True, I mean he hit Slaton on that play, who is very elusive and with a missed tackle could have had a big gain. Most teams dont run slants to pick up 6 yards. They run it to hit the guy in stride to make a short pass into a long one.
I think he is. His game winning drive against the Dolphins last year proved. He led them down the field against the Cards after throwing the eventual game winning pick 6. It wasn't his fault the RB cannot punch it in
Has Schaub ever made the play to win a game or performed dominantly over a half or a quarter to win a game the team shouldn't have won? That's clutch. Even Vince Young has made a clutch play to win a big division game on the road.
After throwing the interception late in the 4th quarter he came right back down with no timeouts and got in close NFL field goal position. Very clutch drive!!! Lat year vs Miami was also a huge clutch drive! The drive against Arizona in the last minutes was also huge. He can't help if a kicker misses a kick or if a running back fumbles the ball or gets stopped at the 1 yard line!
do you even watch the Texans? <object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wiCc_hy-TKk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wiCc_hy-TKk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object> texans vs. bengals 2009 texans vs. arizona 2009 just a few off the top of my head....
he scored on a draw play last year to beat the dolphins (after converting a 4th down previously on the same drive), turning 0-5 into 1-4 & starting the texans on an 8-4 run. how anyone could still have any doubts about matt schaub is so far beyond comprehension, i'm at a loss. he didn't miss the game-tying 42-yard FG yesterday - he was the one, you know, who made it possible, though.
is that what you were really thinking during the 2nd game of the season, and the Texans were down 21-7? who was the favored to win at that time? Do the Titans not play in the same division? Oh yea, this game was also on the road. Nice try again.
The question here wasn't do you doubt Matt Schaub. Maybe that's why you're at a loss. I thought the defense holding Peyton Manning to 20 points was what, you know made it possible for the Texans to have a shot. If you'd told me the Texans were going to score 17 points and all knowing Ric was going to claim it was another vintage Matt Schaub clutch performance then I'd have a good laugh.
Nobody knew how good or bad the Titans were at the time. Turns out they're one of the worst teams in the league. Nice try or just the truth.
it was, you're right. i forgot the defense drove the texans 61 yards into FG range with 1:46 left and no timeouts. silly, all-knowing me - i should have known that, right?
