im happy for lowry that he is a full time starter now. dude has been put on the backburner forever in memphis in favor of fucking mike conley.
He is starting because he is doing such great job with starters and if rick bench him back it might hurt the chemistry little bit.
Hey, what happened to those loudmouths who apparently fore-went their summer vacations in order to spam the board all July and August with their ultimate trump card, the bold, thoroughly well-researched, argument ending statement that "ADELMAN AGREES WITH ME THAT AB IS BETTER CUZ HE IS STARTER !!!111!!!" What happened to those goofballs who, when confronted with evidence that the Rockets were substantially more efficient with Lowry on the court on both sides of the ball, replied with "WELL ITS NOT FAIR CUZ LOWRY DOESNT HAVE TO START AND HE GETS TO PLAY WITH ALLSTARZ LIKE BUD AND TAYLOR AND DOESNT HAVE TO PLAY WITH CAREER KILLERZ LIKE CHUCK AND BATTIER!!11" Did they all move to D&D or something?
Oooh, burn. I don't need to edit, I do it in one take, I am just that good. As for this tired, beaten down argument, I doubt anyone has changed anyone's mind. I will say that I am surprised at Lowry's improved shooting though, he has really got that 3ball % up, which negates a good portion of my liking AB over him. DD
Answer is easy, Brooks is a better scorer, but Lowry is a better PG and teammates benefit from that better. Offense typically looks faster and crisper. Ball movement is more efficient. I much rather watch Lowry try to get others involved then AB's typical dribble the clock away. However, I will give it to AB that his playmaking of late has seen improvements. I want to see way more of that if he is to come back to the starting lineup. As for who closes the 4th, I would go with AB every time.
I thought it was rather pithy. ;-)- As for being a "tired, beaten down argument" that hasn't "changed anyone's mind," it seems that the mind that counts the most has been changed... Rick Adelman's. That actually surprised me. I was on the fence for a long time about the issue, but Lowry's play convinced me a while back. Still, I assumed that an injury wouldn't affect AB's role when he returned. I was wrong. He's been doing what a lot of us thought would be his perfect role. Instant offense leading the Bench Brigade, which is something that, if that role continues, I think he'll get better and better at while he's here.
I don't think the situation is solved, or over, I think Rick has conveniently ignored it.....and IMO, it will cause a chemistry spill around the trade deadline if both are still here. That is what I think anyway. Tell ya what though to appease the Lowry Lubbers.... I was wrong, you were right..... FOR NOW !.... DD
There is almost nothing I enjoy more about this board than reading you go at it against people. The way you stubbornly defend your position as the only truth is magic...
Truth be told, the main reason AB isn't starting is because out of he and Lowry, AB is more likely to be traded. Henceforth, they would prefer to keep the chemistry of the starters the same at least until the deadline has passed. If Brooks is still here after the trade deadline then I think that's when you may see him back in the starting lineup especially if the team is struggling.
Brooks may have a breakout season last year but this year Kyle Lowry proves that he is a better all around player than Brooks. Overall, Kyle is starting because he is better.
