I'm not sure why anyone would be upset with what Les has done with the team. We haven't won any championship lately, but it's not like Les hasn't tried. The Rockets made a big trade when they acquired Francis, they made another big trade when they acquired T-Mac. The Rockets did everything they could to build a team around Yao. After Yao retired they worked hard to pull off a block buster trade for a superstar. The Rockets used some slick maneuvers to sign both Asik and Lin in the off-season and are now developing a nucleus of young players. The only thing I have been disappointed with is how we got rid of Van Gundy and Rick Adelman. I'm not sure that McHale is an upgrade over either of those guys. Overall I'm pretty happy with what Les has done with the Rockets.
I am disappointed of mediocre result year after year and the "wining season" defined by the front office. I am very disappointed on Morey's contract extension from Les. Other than that, Les's been doing ok. 5 or 6.
He is the best in my opinion. I was surprised when saw all the campaigns he promotes for Houston community. Diabetes, Animal rights , Christmas ... And he is vegetarian! Knicks dont do nothing like this, and the tickets price are over $350... Les is the best! God bless him! And give much health for him and family!
Les bought a champion, but since has proven that he has no idea what he is doing. The record speaks for itself. Now he is in love with a GM who he thinks is a genius, but just like the owner has no idea what he is doing. For those that think otherwise, take a real hard look at the Rocket's record since the championship days, a real hard look. Yep, excuses are for losers.
He meddles with the coaches too much. I do not like his handling of coaches at all. I also do not like his handling of ticket prices or the design of the Toyota Center (we do not need two levels of luxury boxes in Houston). And we don't need to accommodate hockey, it made the lower bowl too wide (not tight as advertised). We have never been the 5th best draw in the NBA, but he sure likes to price us that way. That really sucks. But I do have confidence that he'll spend money wisely on the roster. That's the only good thing, along with finding Morey..
He doesn't interfere too much compared to some, he hired a GM and gives him a lot of freedom. He's not disinterested in results either though. And he spends money when necessary. = a great owner in my book Morey has been the GM for only 5 years. And most of those years were messy because of the superstars health situation. Morey's been active, he's made a number smart decisions and the team has a bunch of assets. Firing him would be a stupid, frontrunner move, and you don't want an owner who's a frontrunner in firing GMs.
